    Tina goes home, will Bette follow?

    Chapter 46

     

    “Shh baby.” Bette whispers, stroking her back.

    Tina can’t stop crying. She holds on to Bette’s shirt tightly, her head buried in her neck. Bette moves her hand up to Tina’s hair and softly runs her fingers through it. After a few minutes later, Tina falls asleep. Bette just holds her for a few minutes after that and then she ease her way out from the bed, she picks up her cell phone and call the airline and books Tina on a flight later that night, she then calls Chris. Lauren answers the phone.

    “Hi, Lauren, it’s Bette. I’m so sorry.” Bette says.

    “Hi, Bette, yeah, it is a shock.” Lauren replies. “How is Tina?” Lauren asks.

    “She’s a mess, she’s sleeping right now. I have booked her a ticket for 6 tonight, and I was wondering if someone could pick her up at the airport?” Bette asks.

    “Yes, off course, I’ll pick her up. Chris is over at the house with Sarah and their dad.” Lauren says.

    “Thank you.” Bette says.

    “Wait, won’t you be coming with her?” Lauren asks.

    “No, she didn’t want me there, she wanted to do this alone, since she hasn’t spoken to her father yet. I’m supposed to play golf this weekend, I’m not sure how well I’m going to play, I’ll be thinking about her every waking moment.” Bette says.

    “Yeah.” Lauren replies.

    “But, Lauren, please promise me that you’ll call me if she” Bette starts, but is interrupted by Lauren.

    “I’ll call you Bette.” She replies. “But what about the tournament?” Lauren asks.

    “I don’t care. If Tina needs me there, then that’s where I need to be and want to be.” Bette replies.

    “Yes, I understand.” Lauren says.

    Bette tells her when the plane will land and then they hang up.

    She walks back to the bed, where Tina is about to wake up again. She takes a seat on the floor facing Tina. She strokes her chin softly. Tina slowly opens her eyes.

    Bette leans in and kisses Tina softly on the lips.

    “I’ve booked you a plane at 6. I called Lauren, so she’s gonna pick you up.” Bette says softly, still stroking her face.

    Tears are starting to form again in Tina’s eyes. Bette stands up and get into the bed. She holds out her arm and invites Tina to snuggle close. She places her head on Bette’s chest, as Bette has her arm around Tina’s shoulder.

    1. That’s my Bette, go and stand by your woman’s side. Tina’ father may not like it, but this is about Tina, not him. Everyone deals with grief and different ways and as Bette told Tina “IT is her job to be there for here”. If Tina’s father should be happy that his daughter has someine who will put aside any and everything to be there for her. He may not realize or admit it now, but he will later that that is what any parent wants for thier child. GOOD choice Bette–YOU GO GIRL.

    3. Lauren..that was sad and touching chapter. I was glad Bette decided to be with Tina regardless how Tina felt. Tina needs Bette with her…she needs support. Lauren, thanks for the chapter..looking forward to the next one.

    9. well, i’m glad that Bette decided to be with Tina.. i’ve been in a similar road before..sometimes u think u cn handle things by yourself but deep inside you needed someone to be by your side..holding you too..as always great story lauren..can’t wait for you’re next one
