Tina lifts her gently out of Bette’s arms and into her own.
Tears continues to fall down her cheek.
“You’re finally here.” She whispers and softly strokes her chin. “You know, I never got to hold the boys this early.” Tina says and looks down on Bette. “I wish I could’ve had that experience.” She adds.
Bette softly touches Tina’s arm and smiles up at her.
A minute later, the nurse takes her from Tina and carries her over to a table in the back. There the doctor checks her out, while the nurses cleans her and put her into a nice and clean diaper and clothes. Tina turns towards Bette again.
“How are you feeling?” Tina asks.
“Exhausted, but good.” Bette replies.
“Good. And you will have plenty of rest, once we get back home.” Tina says and smiles. She leans down and kisses her once more.
Two hours later, Bette is wheeled into a separate room. She’s still in bed. Tina’s been with her the whole time. Except for a few minutes when she went out in the waiting room to tell the boys and the girls that Andrea was born.
Once inside the room, Julia, Jessie and the boys entered.
“Hey mama.” Julia and Jessie says in unison.
“Hey girls.” Bette replies.
“How are you?” Julia asks.
“Good, tired, but good.” Bette replies and gives them a smile.
“That’s good. So when can we see her?” Julia asks.
“She’ll be down here in about 10 minutes.
“Oh great.” Julia says. Danny walks up to Tina and wants to be lifted up.
“Mommy, where’s the baby?” Danny asks.
“She’ll be here in a few minutes. The doctors are with her.” Tina says.
“Mama.” Noah says as he wants to join Bette in the bed. Julia picks him up.
“Mama is tired, she needs rest.” Julia says.
Just then the door opens and Andrea is wheeled in, in her crib.
“Oh, here’s our little girl.” Tina says and smiles. She give Danny to Jessie. “Here could you take him for a few moments?” Tina asks Jessie.
“Sure.” Jessie says.
Tina walks over to the crib and carefully lifts Andrea up. Tears well up right away. She brings her over to Bette and gently lay her down in Bette’s arms.

I have always liked your story. I may have not commented on it in the beginning, but I was being a dummy then. I am glad that you have incorporated Peter into the story (even if he is never around). I always wondered if Julia knew who her father was. Now, she has a sister and may finally meet her father. Congratulations on a wonderful award. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
