Chapter 186
The next day:
It’s still early in the morning. Bette just woke up. She grabs her stomach. She recognizes that feeling. It’s a contraction. She reaches over to Tina.
“Tina, honey…. Wake up.” Bette says and nudge her a little. Then she felt wet.
“Hmmm…. What babe?” Tina asks, still half asleep.
“I’m in labour.” Bette says and smiles. “My water just broke.” She adds.
That made Tina jump out of bed. She was in a standing position in seconds and her clothes was on in less than 30 seconds.
“Baby, calm down. It’s still 15 minutes apart. We have plenty of time. We don’t need to rush.” Bette says, smiling up at Tina.
“Oh.” Tina says and calms down a bit.
“Come here.” Bette says and reaches out her arm. Tina gladly takes it and sit down on the bedside next to Bette.
“What?” Tina asks.
“I love you.” Bette says and smiles as she pulls Tina down and softly kisses her lips.
“I love you too.” Tina says in between the kisses.
“Why don’t you go and get the boys ready. I’ll be fine here.” Bette suggests.
“Are you sure?” Tina asks in a concerned voice.
“Yes, I’m sure. Go, I’ll be fine. I’ll get dressed and join you.” Bette says and smiles. “I’ve done this before, remember?” Bette says, reminding Tina.
“Yeah, sorry. I’ll go and get the boys ready.” Tina says and stands up and leans down for a kiss and then walks into the nursery.
30 minutes later they were on their way to the hospital. Tina had called Julia and Jessie, they were also on their way. The boys had fallen asleep again in the car.
“How are you doing?” Tina asks.
“Fine, it’s 8 minutes now. Getting closer.” Bette says and smiles over at a nervous Tina.
They drive into the hospital parking lot.
“Boys, wake up. It’s time to meet your sister.” Tina says as she unbuckles them from their car seats.
“Really?” Danny asks.
“Yes, in a very short time, she will come.” Tina says and lifts him out of the car. “No running guys.” She adds as she also lift Noah out of the car.
They all walk into the ER. And up to the reception desk.

I have always liked your story. I may have not commented on it in the beginning, but I was being a dummy then. I am glad that you have incorporated Peter into the story (even if he is never around). I always wondered if Julia knew who her father was. Now, she has a sister and may finally meet her father. Congratulations on a wonderful award. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
