“Hi, I’m Tina Kennard Porter, I called a little while ago. My wife Bette Porter is in labour.” Tina says and points to Bette who has taken a seat in one of the chairs in the waiting area. The boys are standing close to her.
“Yes, hello. You can take a seat for a few minutes. The doctor is on his way down.” The nurse says.
“Thank you.” Tina says and joins Bette and the boys. “The doctor will be here shortly.” Tina says and put her arm on Bette’s back.
“Yeah, okay. It’s 6 minutes now. I hope he comes really soon.” Bette says and looks at Tina. Just then the doctor enters. He has a nurse with him who’s got a wheelchair.
“Bette Porter?” He asks.
“Yes, here.” Bette says and stands up.
“Babe, I can’t come with you. Not yet. I can’t leave the boys.” Tina says.
“It’s okay.” Bette says.
“Julia and Jessie will be here soon. When they’re here, I’ll be right in. Which room doctor?” Tina asks.
“We’ll bring her up one floor. Room
“Okay. I’ll be right up.” Tina says and leans down and kiss Bette. “Keep her in till I get there okay?” Tina says and smiles.
“I will try.” Bette says. “Boys, come here.” Bette says. Danny and Noah walks over to her. “I will see you soon. When I see you again, you will meet your little sister.” Bette says and give both Danny and Noah a kiss on the cheek.
“I’ll be right there.” Tina says and kisses Bette once more before she’s wheeled out.
A few minutes later, Jessie and Julia enters the waiting room.
“Hey, how’s mom?” Julia asks.
“She’s up in the delivery room.” Tina says.
“Okay, let’s go up there.” Julia says. “They have a waiting room there right?” She adds.
“Yeah.” Tina says.
Tina lifts up Noah and Jessie takes Danny.
Up in the waiting room there is a playpen for the boys. Tina and Jessie set the boys down.
“Tina?” Julia says.
“Yes?” Tina replies.
“Could I get a minute with mom before you go in?” Julia asks.
“Sure, go ahead.” Tina says and smiles.
“Thank you.” Julia says. “I’ll be right back.” Julia says and softly kisses Jessie.

I have always liked your story. I may have not commented on it in the beginning, but I was being a dummy then. I am glad that you have incorporated Peter into the story (even if he is never around). I always wondered if Julia knew who her father was. Now, she has a sister and may finally meet her father. Congratulations on a wonderful award. Keep writing and I will keep reading.
