A crush, a meeting then love? – Chapter 179
You too? Tina says and lets out a little laugh.
Yeah. Sorry. Jessie replies with a grin.
They walk to the register.
Hello, whats your order? The woman asks.
Well have three hamburger plates with fries. One big plate of fries and three waffles. Tina says.
Do you want drinks? The woman asks.
Three cokes, two apple juices and? Tina says looking at Jessie.
Oh, Ill have a diet coke. Jessie says.
Okay that will be 45 dollars. The woman says. And grabs the waffles and drinks.
Take him for a second. Tina says and hand Noah over to Jessie.
Here you go. Tina says and pays for the food.
Thank you. Heres your numbers. The numbers will be called out when its ready. The woman says.
Okay, thank you. Tina says and takes the drinks and the waffles. They walk back to the table. Noah wants to sit on Bettes lap as usual.
Later that afternoon:
Julia, Jessie and Danny left a few hours earlier.
They are now waiting in the room for the results. Tina is seated on the floor with Noah and plays with the puzzle Danny brought. Bette is seated in the chair.
Dr. Lawrence walks in. As soon as Noah sees him, he crawls into Tinas lap. He walks over and takes a seat next to Bette in the other chair. Tina turns around on the floor so shes facing him and Bette.
So, doc. Bette starts.
We got the test results back, and it is leukaemia. Acute Leukaemia. Its between stage 1 and stage 2. We are going to start on an aggressive treatment tomorrow morning. Dr. Lawrence says.
Aggressive treatment, what so you mean by that? Bette asks and looks worriedly down on Tina and Noah.
We have to start right away. The cancer is aggressive and increasing fast. Dr. Lawrence says.
Tina tightens her grip on Noah a little. She kisses his head and looks into Bettes eyes.
What if the chemo doesnt work? Bette asks.
Well, then we have to do an bone marrow transplant and shall I say luckily for Noah, he has an identical twin brother. That means that hopefully we dont have to search for a donor. Which in many cases takes too long. Dr. Lawrence says.
Oh. Bette replies.
Has he eating anything today? He asks.
Yeah, he ate half a waffle earlier today. And he ate mashed potatos last night. Tina replies.
Good. He needs to keep eating, even if its just a small thing. Dr. Lawrence says.
So, Dr. Lawrence, what is going to happen tomorrow? Tina asks.
I have set up chemotherapy at 9 tomorrow morning., he will be giving a large dose. So dont expect him to be awake after. It will take him out. Hell be tired and probably sleep all day. Dr. Lawrence says.
Oh okay. Tina replies.
Any more questions? He asks.
Not right now. Bette says.
Okay, well let me now if you do. Ill be more than happy to answer them for you. Ill leave you guys alone to be with him and dont wait to long to get him to bed. Hell need the extra energy he can get. He says and leaves the room.
Tina stands up and takes a seat on the chair next to Bette. Noah still clings to her.
Bette wipes a tear away,
So this is real. I had the slightest hope that it would be false alarm. Bette says and looks over at Tina.
Yeah, me too. Tina replies.
We should put him down. Bette says.
Yeah. Ill take him to the bathroom and get him ready. Maybe you could find his pj? Tina asks.
Sure. Bette says.
15 minutes later they are tucking him in.
Sing. Noah says and looks at Bette.
You want me to sing? Bette asks him and smiles.
Yes. He replies.
What song? She asks and looks over at Tina, who smiles and takes a hold of Bettes hand. They are standing on each side of the bed.
Push. He replies.
Tina is surprised and so is Bette.
Where did you get that song from? Bette asks him.
You sing to mommy. I heard. He replies.
Oh. Bette says and smiles over at Tina and gently squeezing her hand.
And so she starts.
Everytime I look at you, the world just melts away
He soon falls asleep.

Class chapter hope noah gets better tho x
Chemo is hell on adult,a child,mKE YOU WANT TO CRY. He will get better,I dont believe that Bette and Tina could make it with out him, also Danny thanks
Come on. Do you really have to do this?
I know that it will get worse before it gets better, but I can already feel the pain. This family has already been through so much and now they are fighting for Noah’s life. Plus, on top of this Bette will have her baby girl soon. It was nice to see Bette and Julia bonding even more. Although you could tell that it hurt Julia to know that her mother does not remember much of her pregnancy with Julia. I still wonder when will Julia’s father will re-appear. He does not even know that Bette was ever pregnant with Julia. Hope school does not get you down to much.
been reading chap 171-179 wow you sure pack their lives with a lot of problems that they have to get thro–hope bettes’ back ache is only from carrying the baby and not more for her and tina have to get thro–the saying that god never gives more than what you can handly is true but they have had more than their share–great story been with you from the beginning–i had an uncle named noah he lived until his 80’s hope little noah will–get some rest too can’t have our author getting sick

Why do i feel that Noah will need His bro Danny to get better?? poor kid..at least he is lucky to have a twin. I hope nothing happens to Bette and the baby..its not a healthy place for a pregnant woman to stay 24/7 and i wonder if they will Tell their families and friends about Noah. Post soon!
Great chapter and you are doing this so beautifully. Please let him get better, they have had so much pain in their lives and finally when it looked like everything would be okay, bam, the cancer w/Noah.They don’t need this and neither does baby Noah, nor Bette and the fetus. What is withthe song PUSH, don’t know that one. Thanks for the great post and post again soon. please.
