“Hey, Bette, what’s up?” He asks looking at her. He sees that something is wrong. “Is everything okay?” He asks.
“No, something has come up, personal stuff. I won’t be able to attend and give it my full attention.” Bette says.
“Oh, it’s okay, we’ll manage, just do what you have to do. I’ll put the papers and info into the office when we’re done.” He says.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it.” Bette replies. He walks in again and Bette walk off to find Dana and the boys. She walks outside to the patio and sees them at the bottom of the stands. She goes down to them.
“Hey, aren’t you suppose to be in a meeting?” Dana asks smiling, but then she sees Bette’s sad face.
“Bette? What’s wrong?” Dana asks as she put Noah down in the stroller.
“She has had contact with my daughter all these years, and never told me. And to top that off, she told her that her biological mother died in childbirth.” Bette says and starts to cry again.
“Oh my God, Bette come here.” Dana says and takes her into her arms.
After a few minutes they breaks away. Bette takes a seat and takes out her cell phone. She dials Jessie’s number.
“Hello?” Jessie says.
“Jess, it’s me, have you left yet?” Bette asks.
“No, we’re getting ready though. Tina is changing Matt’s diaper.” Jessie replies.
“Okay, I have to tell you something. I just spoke with my mother, she told me that she has had contact with my daughter and that her name is Julia Russell and is from Boston.” Bette says.
“Oh, she really is your daughter.” Jessie replies.
“Yeah, but my dear mother said she had told her or her parents that her biological mother died in childbirth.” Bette says as tears starts to stream again.
“Oh my God. She never told me that. I don’t think she has heard that, because she’s been looking for you.” Jessie says.
“Yeah, I heard you said that, maybe you could ask her?” Bette says and wipes away the tears.
“Yeah, I will. Hey, Tina is standing beside me, you want to talk to her for a sec?” Jessie asks.
“Yeah, put her on.” Bette says.

GEEZZZ…that woman is mean..really is..how could a mother do that to her own child and worse do that with her grandchild???? i hope Julia forgive Bette for what she did..i know 18 years is a long time but they have to think in the future and all they great times they have to enjoy each other…both suffered boecause of lies..no more lies Bette need to talk to her soon..great chapter..as always thanks and psot soon :o)

What is wrong with Maxine? do she loves Bette? she did a lot of awful thing, i hope Bette will be available to explain to Julia all
I would like to know maxine’s motiation for doing that to Bette, and not some bulls&%t story. The actual truth. if i were Bette, I would just fire her,take her keys to everything, and have her escorted from the bldg., without a lot of drama. Then change all the locks, have an accoutant go over the books and if anything is missing, file charges and lock her up in jail. If she was capable of such subterfuge for so long, what else has she done. She could have diverted funds from Bette’s earnings and as long as she was the only one controlling everything, who would know. Bette could be in financial trouble w/o even knowing it. This woman is cold hearted and cares for no one but herself. Once Bette finds out that she is financially sound and the club is financially sound the she needs to tear Maxine a new a%&hole and send her packing. She needs to get maxine’s name off all accounts, etc. This story is great. Thanks for the post.

Wow you nver disappoint do you! I think Maxine’s behaviour is totally out of line. However I would also like to see her apologize to both Bette and Julia at some point in the future, like after quite a while, and then they can become a family again. Even if that is unrealistic I would really hope that Bette can recover from the shock and anger enough to be okay meeting her daughter. It is going to be so special and I can’t wait to see Jessie and Jules together either. Such a great story. Keep it up. Again thanks for posting.

Oh god I am dying! I sure hope that you are able to post soon. Please hurry. I can’t wait to see what happens when Bette finally fires Maxine and then lets her know that Julia is actually on her way to her home. Then, I hope that Julia understands everything that has happened and that she can accept Bette as her mother.

I cannot believe that Maxine could be so nonchalant about finally sharing that information with Bette. She’s so cold and distant. Telling Bette matter-of-factly how she told Julia or her parents that the birth mother died during childbirth. I can understand that as a mother she wanted what was best for her daughter, but she manipulated her daughter’s life. She manufactured lies after lies and she doesn’t seem a bit concerned by the hurt she caused. It’s like she tried to build the perfect world she wanted for herself and her daughter and she didn’t care if she destroyed her daughter in the process…as long as their lives seemed perfect to the outside world. That is truly sad.
And I need you Lauren to post again and soon….this is good stuff and I can’t wait…. :o))
