“So, what’s the ruling?” He asks with a little laugh.

“It’s all in favour.” Bette replies.

“Really? That’s great.” He says.

“Yeah. I have one question though.” She says.

“Sure, what is it?” He asks.

“My wife and I are expecting a baby in late July, early August. Would it be possible to get a month off around then?” She asks as she holds her breath.

“Off course, that can be arranged. To using your club, what about that?” He asks.

“Off course, and it will make it little easier on me too.” She replies.

“Great, we have a deal then. Could you make it into my office on of these days to finalize the contract?” He asks.

“Yes I will, how about tomorrow at noon?” She suggests.

“That will be great. And you have to have a lease contract of your course.” He replies.

“I will, I’ll see you tomorrow then. Have a lovely evening Martin.” Bette says.

“Same to you Bette.” He says and they hang up.

She sits for a few more moments before she goes back to the kitchen to help Tina.

Tina sees her, but doesn’t go to her. She waits.

Then Bette stands up and walks back.

“So, what did he say?” Tina asks.

“Great.” Bette smiles. “I’m going into his office tomorrow at noon, to sign the contract.” Bette says and takes a towel and starts drying the dishes Tina has cleaned.

“That’s good babe.” Tina says and leans in for a kiss.

“Yeah, I hope so.” Bette replies with a little laugh.

They stay in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, stealing glances of each other.

“Tina could you promise me one thing?” Bette asks.

“Yes, what?” Tina asks.

“If I get too caught up in my work, please let me know?” Bette says.

“I will.” Tina replies.

“I mean it, tell me, do not let it slowly take the life out of us.” Bette says and looks into Tina’s eyes.

“I won’t babe, never.” Tina replies and leans in for a kiss as she slides her arms around Bette’s waist. “You care to join me for a walk? Maybe to the park?” Tina asks.

Bette kisses back and smiles.

“I would love to.” She replies.

They finish the dishes quickly and then get dressed and head out. They walks towards the park.

“Talked to Alice since we came back?” Bette asks.

“No I haven’t. I’m feeling a little bad, when it comes to both Alice and Shane. We used to be together almost everyday before I met you. Now I barely see them one time during the week.” Tina says.

“I know what you mean. It’s been a long time since I’ve had some alone time with Dana, just a girls night.” Bette says and looks down.

“Why don’t we call them later and ask them to hang out?” Tina suggests. “But not together, I hang with Alice and Shane and you and Dana can have a girls night out. What do you say?” Tina says.

“Well” Bette starts.

“Bette, even if we’re married now, doesn’t mean that we can’t have some fun. We need to do this, we don’t want to be boring, do we?” Tina asks Bette.

“No, I suppose not.” Bette replies with a little smile.

“And we can’t be totally dependable on each other. We have to have space sometimes. Because if we don’t, we’ll get blind.” Tina says.

“I know, it’s just so hard to leave you.” Bette says.

“It’s hard for me too. But I can manage, because I know that at the end of the day, I’ll be here with you, my favourite place to be.” Tina says and smiles and leans in for a soft kiss.

“I love you.” Bette says and kisses back.

“I love you too, so much.” Tina says.
