“Yeah, and I’ll have a Pellegrino.” Bette replies.

“Two salads coming right up.” Peter says and leaves the table.

“So have you made up your mind about what to do with the job offer?” Tina asks, looking at Bette.

“Are you sure you’re okay with it? I mean really okay with it?” Bette asks.

“Yes, baby, I am. I think you should do it.” Tina says and smiles. “I love my job and I will be going back to work as a photographer when the baby is old enough to be left with a babysitter.” Tina says, taking Bette’s hand in hers and softly rubbing it.

“I know I just don’t want to miss out, I want to be here when he or she says their its first word, or takes its first step, I don’t want to miss those moments.” Bette says.

“You never know when that’s going to happen. I might be at the store, buying food, while you stay at home with he or she, she might say something or walk then. Or maybe he or she will do it in the middle of the night. Babe, don’t worry about that.” Tina says.

“Oh when you say it like that” Bette says and smiles.

“Babe, if you want that job, take it. I’m with you till the end, no matter what.” Tina says and squeezes Bette’s hand a little again.

Just then the food arrives.

“Thank you.” Both says.

“Okay, I will call the man back tomorrow.” Bette says and looks at Tina.

Tina smiles and continue to eat.

The next day:

Both were already up and eating breakfast. They had stopped by the store last night after the Planet to buy food.

Tina starts to clean the table.
“I’ll just make a phone call.” Bette says and looks over at Tina in the kitchen.

Tina smiles and nods.

Bette takes the phone and walks into the living room.

She dials the number.

“Martin Thompson speaking.” He says.

“Hi, Martin, it’s Bette Porter.” She replies.

“Oh, hello Bette, how are you?” He asks.

“I’m great thanks.” She replies.

“That’s good, so have you thought about our offer?” He asks.

“Yes, I have, and talked it over with my wife.” She says.
