To Spashley With Love – (Chapter: Chapter Four)

    “Sorry about him,” stated Kyla.

“It’s alright,” I said. Thank you for inviting me.

“No problem,” replied Kyla. Any friend of Ashley’s is a friend of mine.

Awhile later, Kyla, Aiden, Ashley, and I were having dinner. The food wasn’t as bad as Ashley claimed it to be. “So how’s good old King High?” Aiden asked.

“King High is old, but not good,” joked Ashley.

    “I second that,” I agreed.

“So how long have you been going to King?” asked Kyla.

“For almost a month now,” I answered.

“How long have you and Ashley have been dating?” asked Aiden bluntly. Kyla nudged Aiden in the ribs. Ow, that hurts.

“We’re not dating,” I answered. Aiden had a confused look on his face.

“They’re friends,” said Kyla clearing it up for Aiden.

“Wow, that’s a first,” Aiden stated. I mean she’s a love them and leave them type. Ashley left the kitchen table and I went after her. What did I say?

Ashley went to her room and I followed her. “You shouldn’t have heard about my past at the dinner table,” said Ashley with a sigh. It’s not one that I’m proud of. They say that your past helps you become who you are in the future. I don’t know if that’s true for everyone.

“We all have things we’re not proud of,” I replied. Whenever you’re ready to talk about your past, you can tell me.

“You wouldn’t see me the same way,” sighed Ashley.

    “Try me,” I said.

“Okay,” stated a hesitant Ashley. The girl I used to be was perfect at least in King High. She was co-captain for the cheerleading squad. I was a straight A student. I never really noticed guys, but I had an image I wanted to uphold. Derek had always liked me and was trying to get me to go out with him, but I always made up some lame excuse of why I wouldn’t go out on the date. Madison started spreading rumors that I liked girls at the time. She wanted Derek to herself. I proved all of King High wrong by asking Derek out. We were the most talked about couple and cutest couple. My feelings for Derek hadn’t changed. They were platonic. I started to notice girls and it freaked me out. I was hooking up with girls that I met from this bar called Gray. I disguised myself of course. After awhile, I tried playing the straight girl card again so I went all the way with Derek. He had gotten me pregnant that first time. Christine flipped out and wanted me to have an abortion. I refused to have an abortion since I wanted to find someone I could finally love, someone who can finally love me for me… Ashley Davies. She pulled Kyla and me out of King High and moved us to San Francisco so she could catch up with her man candy. I left without telling Derek anything. He never knew about the baby. A few weeks later, I had a miscarriage and I fell into a deep state of depression. All I would do was party hard and do drugs and sleep around with girls. My life was spiraling out of control and Kyla was the one who helped me out before I’d kill myself.

    “Whoa,” I said stunned.

“Yeah,” replied Ashley. So you know about my past. Please don’t hate me for not telling you sooner.

“I don’t hate you,” I said. I went to hug Ashley. Thank you for trusting me.
