“Something along the lines of “I miss you; I’ve made a terrible mistake; I want to see you; I wish I hadn’t panicked and run out on you that morning”… that kind of stuff,” she frowned, her eyes studying her hands in her lap between us.
That’s when it dawned on me, every little piece came together as though a big light had been turned on over the puzzle of my past. I’d always thought my mother had cut me off because I was showing no signs of doing anything with my life, and so she had been unprepared to fund my lazy lifestyle; but suddenly I knew the truth…
That weekend, my mother had paid me a surprise visit at the flat she’d rented for me, to introduce me to new husband number 5, a severe Republican who was running in some big election – the fact I knew nothing about it showed how much I cared… he was a moody asshole, so why should I give a damn? I’d had to go out to get some food for lunch because I had nothing in my fridge, and upon my return my mom, over the course of making and eating dinner, basically informed me that she was disowning me and that I’d have to start making my own way through life as she was no longer going to pay for it. Brian, I remembered, kept mentioning how the world was tough; “full of Godless people who needed guidance”; and that, of course, he would be the one to give them it if he won whatever it was he was standing for. It dawned on me how he stared at me throughout the whole meal, especially when he’d started ranting about the Godless people of America – including, I remembered, the gay and lesbian population. I remembered his little rant about how he couldn’t stand to live in LA, and so intended to move mom away from the area as quickly as possible. How fucking ironic! That just had to be the day that Spencer called, and if I’d have been there to answer it, my life would have been fantastic; I’d have forgiven her and no doubt convinced her to return to me. But instead she’d left a message, of course my mom had heard it, and I had become homeless and penniless within the space of a few short hours. Obviously having an unemployed, gay stepdaughter wouldn’t have worked well for Mr. Model Republican.

were you reading my mind? because last night i was like…ok damn i really could use an update of png! and what an update it was!! so much stuff cleared up!! but theres still that tiny matter of that bet…hmm no big right? lol WRONG! prepare for fallout. remember everyone DUCK AND COVER! i’m so excited for the next chappy!
basically i agree with what everyone has said so far. and i cant wait until the next chapter. *dances* yay spenceandash. and if aiden screws this up ill castrate him, not really thats just my threat :]
o how i have been waiting for this update! and well worth it, cant wait to see how this week goes

Holy COW! Great update man. GREAT. I loved it. And the emotion that was running thru this whole thing? Amazing. I was feeling everything that Ashley and Spencer were feeling. Thnk god that they are together, but now I’ve started to panic about when Spencer finds out about the bet. I wonder how it’s going to go down. I’ll be waiting for your next post.
