“I wish I’d been there to hear the message,” I frowned, looking down into my lap in a similar manner to Spencer.
“Hey… what’s up?” she suddenly asked, sounding more concerned than ever before. She knew it was more than a reaction to what she had just told me. Of course she knew – she knew me better than anyone… everyone.
“Nothing,” I sighed. It was a lie, but a necessary one. “I just think it’s best if we finally leave the past where it is. Everything’s different now, so why not just make a fresh start?”
I realised that some things just didn’t need to be talked about. If Spencer knew what I’d just discovered, she’d have blamed herself completely. What had happened between my mother and I had completely dictated the way my life had turned out – and it had had to happen. And had I not met Spencer, my mom would have never cut me off in the first place. Spencer was the single force in my life that had altered everything. My entire existence as I knew it was a direct result of Spencer’s involvement all those years before. I could have been mother to Aiden’s children right now, if I hadn’t met Spence. The thought made me cringe.
“God I’ve wanted to hear you say that for so long,” she beamed, throwing her arms around me.
We stayed in each others arms for a moment, completely content, until we found our faces inching around to meet the other’s. My breathing grew deep as I knew exactly where this was going. I couldn’t start something that I knew I couldn’t stop… that I knew I needed to stop. If I slept with Spencer it would ruin everything, and I just couldn’t risk it coming between us after we’d finally opened up about our past, and overcome it. I didn’t want our fresh start to be built on lies, and so I just had to wait until my week was up. If I managed to last a week without sleeping with Spencer, it would all be fine, and even if she discovered the bet I could point out how much I’d held back, how much I hadn’t tried to win it. Just by having us on track I felt like I’d already won. I didn’t need 20 grand.

were you reading my mind? because last night i was like…ok damn i really could use an update of png! and what an update it was!! so much stuff cleared up!! but theres still that tiny matter of that bet…hmm no big right? lol WRONG! prepare for fallout. remember everyone DUCK AND COVER! i’m so excited for the next chappy!
basically i agree with what everyone has said so far. and i cant wait until the next chapter. *dances* yay spenceandash. and if aiden screws this up ill castrate him, not really thats just my threat :]
o how i have been waiting for this update! and well worth it, cant wait to see how this week goes

Holy COW! Great update man. GREAT. I loved it. And the emotion that was running thru this whole thing? Amazing. I was feeling everything that Ashley and Spencer were feeling. Thnk god that they are together, but now I’ve started to panic about when Spencer finds out about the bet. I wonder how it’s going to go down. I’ll be waiting for your next post.
