    A sequel to “A new start”. “….all you could hear were the shots that sliced the air and screams.”

    “How would you know?” Ashton snaps back as she paces

    “Because of the one time she, A.J. and I went out to lunch. She couldn’t look at me.” Alexis says softly

    “What does that prove? She probably couldn’t look at you because it was just like looking at me. She was probably disgusted.” Ashton says as her tears continue to run down her face

    “No, that’s not it. I asked her why she couldn’t look at Alex and she told me as a tear went down her face it was because if she did she would just want to wrap her arms around her and never let go because she‘d feel it was you. After that she wouldn’t go out with Alex anymore. They would talk on the phone once in a while but she’d refuse to see her while she’d go out to lunch with me whenever I asked.” A.J. says softly

    Ashton just shakes her head in disbelief. She couldn’t believe that her Maggie still felt something for her even after all she’d done to her. She just couldn’t believe it.

    Alexis snaps her out her thoughts when she says firmly, “You have a lot waiting for you at home. Some of it will take work but you can make things right. You can be happy. Come home with us.”

    “Damn it, you know why I can’t go home!!” Ashton screams crying

    “Fine, let’s talk about it then!!” Alexis screams back

    Ashton just goes white, stops her pacing and croaks out, “I-I can’t”

    “Oh yes you can and you will. We all will.” A.J. says firmly

    They all began to talk and remember the faithful night that changed their life’s forever.

    It was just one week after their high school graduation when Ashton burst in to her parent’s office. Ashley was writing in a black journal while Spencer was looking working away on her computer. As soon as she walked in both of her mother’s stopped what they were doing and Spencer asked, “What’s going on Ashey?”

    “Mom can you please take us to the Grammy’s? Please?” Ashton begged

    Ashley just frowned at the request. She really didn’t like to go to those events anymore. Actually she never did but she used to go to them often when she was performing and when she had first started her label. But after she got her label established she really hadn’t gone to one of them in years. She hated the cameras and particularly the reporters. God, they were nosy. Of course, she was always invited. In fact, she’d been asked more than once to perform but she always said the same thing, “I’m retired.” So the prospect of going to one of those things really didn’t appeal to her.
