With a square white towel completely covering Tina’s face, she began to finally make herself at ease in Helena’s superbly marbled bathtub. The bubbles caressed her skin, and she rode the impeccably warm water. If she could just be in a state like this throughout the week, she’d be a happy individual.

Knock-knock. Tina sat up, the bubbles moving with her. “Helena…?”

“I uh… Can I come in for a sec? Is it okay?”

“Uhm…” Tina hurriedly lay back down. Her heart was pounding hard on her chest, definitely harder than the knocks she had heard a few seconds before. “It’s all right…” She called.

Helena burst in and immediately went in front of the sink to splash her face with cold water. She was wide awake but she felt like she was having a nightmare. Watching herself in the mirror, Helena was breathing heavily and she didn’t understand why. She patted her face dry and approached Tina who looked away to avoid meeting Helena’s eyes.

“My day is so shitty that I wanna lash out on everybody. Aside from that, I think I’ve caused Jenny a deformity.” Helena sat on the edge of the bathtub, close enough for Tina to notice how disturbed she was. “I’m sorry I had to disrupt your alone time… I just… I don’t know, actually…”

“Sometimes, I feel the same thing… But if I let myself be susceptible to nagging thoughts, I’d go crazy…”

“Yeah… So, how are you holding up? Still taking it hard?”

“No. I’d rather not think about the whole thing.” Tina held Helena’s gaze, remaining like that for a good ten seconds.
