And that was just it. No thoughts. No reason. No logic. Pure instincts. Pure impulses. The primal nature of the human being. The bathtub was wide enough to fit the both of them together. Had Tina been sober, she would have fended Helena’s advances off. Had Helena been sober, she would not have played around with a friend’s girlfriend. But the two of them had been drunk with the frustration liquor and had been drunken mad for a special someone’s attentive, loving touch.

With no second to spare, Helena jumped in, knelt in between Tina’s legs, and allowed her hands to caress the sides of Tina’s thighs across the water. She traced along her sides until she was cupping Tina’s face to give her a kiss that was yearning for security and comfort in her arms. And Tina kissed back, with her hands on Helena’s hips. A brief lapse in judgment was acceptable but neither of them stopped each other as Helena’s hands slipped down to Tina’s breasts, massaging them gently and Tina continued kissing Helena more fiercely.

The water should have been boiling by now had the two of them been transferring heat from their bodies into the tub. Tina pulled Helena’s white tank top towards her so she could feel her body and if she was strong enough to rip it off Helena, she would. Not once in her life had she cheated on Bette but there was something unfathomable in the air that pushed her to risk her relationship with the girl she was very much in love with. She knew that if Bette found out about this, everything had to end but she was so far gone inside the world of inappropriate affect to ponder on the consequences of her actions. From not so much as looking at another girl or entertaining anyone hitting on her to receiving Helena with open arms, or in this case, open legs, was Tina’s case. On the other hand, Helena had nothing to lose – except maybe her friendship with Bette and everyone else in the group. How could something be so unforgivable be so thrilling?

Helena’s cotton pants were entirely drenched but no matter how hard Tina pulled on the strings to take it off of her, she had always denied her the access. There was no doubt that Helena wanted to sleep with Tina but the mistake of letting Jenny eat her out in the morning had prevented her from letting Tina undo her pants. Even if the pain wasn’t as great a few hours ago, she knew she needed more time to heal.
