Frankie hears Reggie, but before she answers him she looks to Angelica. “You want to go to the Strip?”
Angelica not sure what Frankie means asks, “Strip?”
“Yeah, Sunset Blvd., you know the Strip. It’s a cool place all neon, if we’re lucky we might see a star or two you never can tell. We go cause its all lit up so we can skate there longer. Reggie is right it’ll be dark here soon.” Frankie says knowing she’s talking way too much but she likes this girl and doesn’t want to call it a night just yet.
Angelica smiles listening to all of Frankie’s’ reasons for going to the ‘Strip’. She notices that Frankie looses some of her smoothness the more she talks and just can’t resist teasing her. “Oh … I don’t know .. I mean those are all good reasons but … I’m not sure.”
Frankie hears the hesitation in Angelica’s voice and looks up at her. Seeing the mirth in her eyes she realizes that Angie is teasing. “Oh right … OK … I would like you to come … What do you say?”
Angelica feels an extra shot of juice run through her veins at Frankie’s confession. “Well I say I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
Turning back to Reggie, “Yeah let’s get out of here.”
Off they went, Frankie carrying her board preferring to walk along side of Angelica while Reggie rode off in front of them. Often getting ahead and then having to fool around with his board trying this thing or that until the girls caught up to him.
It was during their walk that they each compared notes about their lives. Frankie had gone first sharing that she’s been on her own for the last three years. Her Mom had been a druggie that died and her Dad had custody of her but he wasn’t around much. She had skipped school so much that nobody noticed her being gone. She finally just got up and left one day and he didn’t come looking for her. They figured out that Frankie was a two years older than Angelica.
Angelica shared she was from the East Coast telling Frankie how she tricked her Mom about spring break. “That’s so wild. Are you just out here for two weeks before you go back to being Mommy’s girl again?” Frankie asks. She wanted to establish quickly if Angelica was going to be around or just treading water until she ran back home. She couldn’t blame her after being on her own for the last few years she wonders why anyone would leave a loving Mom.

I really enjoyed the chapter. Frankie reminded me a little bit of Shane. :) Her and Angelica are very cute together. I really like Frankie because she’s very concerned about Angelica and her well-being. Ooooh, this is going to get interesting. Kit noticed a familiarity in Angelica and I can’t wait for these two ladies to talk. Great chapter and PPS!

Angie lucked out when she met Frankie and she is also lucky that Frankie is one of Shane’s kids, therefore one of Bette’s kids also. Angie must look enough like Tina for Kit to get this feeling that she looks familar.

Ange needs Bette now; hell she doesn’t know who she is at the most important time of her life; so my friend sort out her identity and are u hinting her sexual identity may need sorting also; adolescence is so hard. as usual a great read.

Hello JWet, Thank you for another wonderful post. Good to see thta Frankie was there for Angelica. Ready to help out and offer her some real advice. The net is tightening as Kit has now witnessed her “Niece” in the Planet. Wonder when 1 and 1 will make 2??? Amazing to think that everything Frankie has been through she is able and willing to offer a hand. Perhaps this is the miracle of the Kids Shelter. Give them a place to stay and sound advice and hope that they pay it forward in life. I do hope you come back to use soon and post more of this awesome adventure I am just wondering if Tina has the courage to come to LA and visit the gang again. I am sure that with their contacts they can find Angelica quickly. Mind you that may raise more questions than answers. i a ready for any eventuality you care to share.
