What the Heart Wants–9
Standing, the blonde went to check the wet rag on Shanes forehead. Taking it, she went into the kitchen and wet the rag. Going back in the living room, and putting it back in its place, she sat in the chair again. All this was done while she waited for Tina to get on the phone.
Oh yeah, hey Tina. Guess what. One of your friends is on heroin. Pulling the phone away from her ear quickly, she winced at the screaming she could hear at arm length. Putting the phone next to her ear again, Alice sighed. Tee, its not me, ok? Its Shane. I know, I know. Ten years. Yep. Uh huh. Really. Yes. I saw her do it. On the couch. No, passed out. Literally. I know. Yes, I know. Shes ODed before, then started again. I cant believe it. Hate to see someone I love ***** themselves up so much. Love like a friend, I mean. Sighing, Alice leaned back in her chair. Mmmk, talk to you later. Bye.
Hanging up, Alice clicked her tongue and set the phone down on the table. It was dark in the house, only one dim light on. Closing her eyes, Alice quickly drifted off into sleep.

Slowly, the brunette on the couch lifted her heavy eyelids. The first thing she saw was Alice, staring at her. Look, Al No, you look Shane. Why? Why do you do it? Sighing, Shane sat up, the wet rag falling to the floor. Because of my life. I do it cause it makes me happy, I need some happiness. Shaking her head, Alice picked up the rag.
You have great friends that care for you. Sure, you might have some bumps, but you dont need drugs to get you through it! Frustrated Alice sat next to her. How often? How often do you do it? Looking at her lap, Shane stayed silent. Tell me! Alice snapped. Every day. Or nearly every day. I do as often as I can. Taking a deep breath, Alice looked to Shane. I cant believe, Shane. I seriously ***** can not believe you. Weed, alcohol, its all fine. But heroin? God.
Ive tried stopping, but my body just craves more. I cant help it anymore. It pretty much like a routine. Dont hate me. Her voice was soft, barely audible. I talked to Tina earlier. She got you a place at a rehab center for now. Shane looked up quickly. No, I cant. I can stop on my own. Shaking her blonde head, Alice sighed. No one can stop on their own. Standing, Shane bit her nails nervously. Right now her body was seriously craving the heroin. I can. I promise. I cant go! I wont. Shaking nervously Shane started to pace across the living room. Shane, no one can stop on their own. Since youre my best friend, Im making you go. Getting on her feet Alice went to Shane. Im moving in today! I cant go, I need to move in. Even though she had only gone a few hours without the drug, she was going through withdrawal.

Hey it was great if you want to see a junkie watch Reqieum for a Dream …with Jared Ledo I think that’s the name of it…but it doesn’t matter what drugs they’re doing in the movie, it’ll just help to give you a visual….great job though
my ex-girlfriend was on heroin on and off while we were together…yeah that was bad, i certainly don’t envy alice right now, shes really taking on something hardcore by doing this herself
my moms partener is an ex-heroin user and what u have written is right so dont worry about that. Alice is a great friend with what she is doing for shane
