Ah yes, the eighth chapter. Eight is my lucky number. So hopefully, this will be my lucky chapter. Not quite sure what I mean by that, but oh well. This chapter will most likely be the longest, considering Ive got a lot planned to happen while Shane and Alice are out for dinner.

/////Actually, how about we go out to eat? Shutting the fridge door, Alice walked back over to Shane. Sure, why not. Getting off the counter, she walked into the living room. Where do you wanna go?/////

Aw *****, Al, you know Ill eat anything. Grabbing some money, Alice nodded. Yeah, youre right. How bout we just drive around, see if anything looks good. Shane agreed. Sounds fine to me. With a shrug the brunette walked out of the house, followed closely by Alice.

Shane turned around, quickly snatching the keys from Alices hand. Ha! Im driving! Like a young child she ran to the car, getting into the drivers seat. It was hard to believe that just yesterday she was the most depressed person in the tri-county area.

Alice slid into the passengers seat, propping her feet up onto the dash-board. Her body was twisted a bit, trying to scrunch into the small space between the dash-board and the seat. Raising and eyebrow, Shane started the car. Backing out of the driveway, Alice looked at Shane.

It was happening again, the same thing that had happened when she saw Shane in the bathroom. Of course Shane noticed the staring out of the corner of her eye, but didnt say anything. After about ten minutes of silence and staring, Shane finally spoke up.

Al, why are you staring at me? The question came with a quick glance, seeing as Shane still had to keep her eyes on the road. Blinking and shaking her head, Alice looked straight ahead. I wasnt staring. Shane just shrugged. Alright then, must have been seeing things.

Both women knew that Alice was staring at Shane, but neither were going to say anything. There was a silence again, but it wasnt comfortable like it was earlier in the house. They passed by many different eateries but none seemed appropriate, or even good. One place, which was just a cart, seemed to strike Shanes fancy.

Well, maybe not exactly. She had to slow the car down because she was laughing so much. The name of the cart was supposed to be Harrys Weiner Cart but someone had taken off the s. So now, it was just Harry Weiner Cart. Just drive, Shane. Alice said, rolling her eyes.

Wiping a fake tear from her eye, Shane took hold of the steering wheel. You have such a sick sense of humor, you know that, right? Shane nodded. But dont you love it? Rolling her eyes, Alice searched along the streets for any place to eat.
Suddenly finding a place, Alice grabbed the steering wheel suddenly. The car swerved into the parking lot. Alice was twisted in her seat and across Shanes lap, still holding onto the steering wheel. Shane was frozen, eyes and mouth wide. Looking up at brunette, Alice bit her lip. Um Sorry?

It took Shane at least two minutes to come back to reality. Oh. My. *****. God. Alice!? What the ***** is ***** wrong with you!? Alice sat up, looking sad. Is this place so important that you risk our lives for it? Sighing, the blonde took her feet off the dash-board and put them on the floor of the car.

I didnt risk our lives. There was no one coming. Shane ignored Alice, and got out of the car. Just for that, you have to pay. I was going to pay anyway. Alice commented. Whatever, why did you want to come here anyways? An awkward look came across Alices face. Well You see Gabby goes here and Shane cut her off quickly.

Youre kidding me! Im not going here so you can see Gabby! Quickly, Shane got into the car, starting it. Going around to the drivers side, Alice knocked on the window. Rolling it down, Shane stared up at Alice. I dont want to see Gabby, I want to make her jealous! With a raised eyebrow, Shane stopped the car and stepped out. Jealous? How?

A smile was placed on Alices lips. Just follow my lead. Shane agreed, not having any idea what was going to happen in that restaurant.

The restaurant was filled with adults. No kids, no families, just adults. A bar was set up in the corner, with tables and booths scattered around the main floor. The waitresses seemed to be very rushed, and took nearly fifteen minutes to serve Shane and Alice. A waitress gave each of them a menu, and told them to seat themselves.

Dragging Shane along, Alice found a booth with a view of the bar. Alice peered around, looking for Gabby. Oh! There she is! Alice pointed to her ex-girlfriend entering the restaurant Shane smirked, crossing her arms. Are you sure that she even wants you? I mean, really, isnt she the one who went off with other women? Raising her eyebrows, Alice looked back at Shane. Come on, look at me. Who /wouldnt/ want me!? Plus, I know she wants me. I can tell. Shes looking this way!

Alice moved so she was sitting in Shanes lap. What the *****!? Shane tried to shove her off, but Alice stayed. Hey Gabby! She said happily, waving. Hello, Alice. Gabby replied, stopping in front of the other womens booth. Whos that? She asked, indicating Shane.

This is my girlfriend, Shane. Isnt she darling? Alice said, smiling all the while. Ok Alice, please tell me this will be over soon. Shane hissed in Alices ear. I said earlier, just play along. Alice replied quietly. Hey! How about you come and join us for dinner, Gabby. Alice winced when Shane hit her in the side. It was bad enough that her best friend was saying that she was her girlfriend, but now she had to eat with Gabby?

Shane slid out from under Alice, and stood up. I gotta go piss. Is all she said before heading to the restroom. Gabby sat next to Alice, taking Shanes menu. /Thats/ your girlfriend? Nodding, Alice looked at her own menu. Shes so pretty And nice. Oh, and the *****! Was this making Gabby jealous? No, maybe just a bit sick. Shes pretty, but you sure that shes good for you?

Better than you were? Gabby was oblivious to the venom dripping from those words. Shrugging it off, Gabby still scanned the menu. You know, this was where we had our first date, Al. Alice nodded silently, mentally cursing Shane for leaving her alone with Gabby. Shane arrived back soon, and Alice let her slip in so she was sitting in the middle of the two exes.

One of the many busy waitresses came up, asking for their drink orders. Shane slung her arm around Alices shoulders, smiling. Why dont you order for me? You know what I like, babe. Shanes voice was sultry, and was driving Alice crazy. Then she realized that she didnt know what Shane wanted.

Leaning up, Shane whispered the answer in Alices ear, though to Gabby it looked like she was kissing her ear. Vodka straight. Alice said, smiling like an idiot. And thatll be just a Coke for me. Alice said, finally ordering. Do you want order your meals now? Or do you need some more time.

I think we need some more time. Shane replied; looking at Alices menu, seeing as Gabby took hers. Hmm Wanna share a chicken finger basket with me, Al? Alice thought about it, looking at the picture of the food. Only if I can get onion rings instead of fries. Nodding, Shane closed the menu. Sounds fine to me.

Alice could feel the jealousy radiating off of Gabby, and it made her so happy. Soon they ordered their food. The chicken fingers basket (with onion rings) for Alice and Shane, and a lean turkey sandwich (with a side order of carrots) for Gabby. So, Alice, how long have you and Shane been dating? Glancing at the couple, Gabby crossed her fingers and placed her hands on the table.

Well, weve been friends /forever/ and girlfriends for Oh, about Two months? Smiling, Shane leaned her head on Alices shoulder. The greatest two months of my life. Looking down at the girl on her shoulder, Alice returned the smile. It is wonderful, isnt it? Leaning down, Alice softly touched lips with her girlfriend. Shane tried to pull back, but felt this force pulling her towards Alices lips.

Coughing, Gabby tried to get their attention. Foods here. Her voice was small, and very jealous. Placing the food on the table, the waitress smiled at Shane and Alice, who both had a very obvious blush. Thank you. Alice said quietly, taking one of the onion rings and placing it in her mouth.

The rest of dinner went by un-eventful, seeing as Shane and Alice barely spoke two words after the kiss. Thanks for the wonderful dinner you two. Gabby said, placing a five on the table. That should cover my share. Alice smiled, scooting out of the booth. It was nice, Gabby. Shan followed after Alice. Yeah, it was nice. Gabby replied, walking out.

Slipping her hands into her pockets, Shane glanced at Alice. Why werent you talking? After placing the rest of the money on the table, Alice looked up at Shane. Well I mean, after that kiss” Shane stopped her. Hey, it was just a kiss. Right? Just to make Gabby jealous, which it obviously did. What are you worried about?

Yeah, youre right. Alice flashed Shane a smile and started heading out the door. The two walked out the car where Alice got in the divers seat. How about we go out for some drinks? Shane slid into the passengers side, and smiled. Sounds great.

I wish I had an excuse as to why this took so long to get out. But I dont. I just didnt type it. Sorry for the wait, it was only What? Two weeks. Anyway, this is my longest chapter, coming to about three and a half pages on Word.

Oh, and as an added bonus, my obsessive compulsive tendencies caused me to count how many times the names were used. It came out like this:

Alice: Fifty times! (I might be off one or two, but still, thats a lot)
Shane: Fifty-five times!
Gabby: Twenty times!

Hm. Might Need to work on not using their names so much. Anyway, Ill try and get the next chapter out as soon as possible!
