Now Libby’s face changed from shocked to sheepish as we heard the next revelation she had to make. Her capacity for planning it seemed was akin to her sister’s.

“Well actually Andy, Karen is here this was kind of as much her idea as it was mine but we thought I should get in touch before she popped up out of no where. She is in a hotel across town I can call her over now, she knows where I am I have been keeping her informed. There is something else you should know Andy.”

Andy signalled impatiently for her to continue.

“I am sorry I chose them over you and if I had the choice again I can tell you I would not pick them again.”

Andy laughed and moved across the room to embrace her young sister before breaking away and telling her to invite Karen immediately, then she turned to us and asked us to invite the rest of the gang they needed to know of all the revelations of the day and though she did not say it I felt she just needed them all to be here as we all moved towards what was to come.

Everybody arrived over the next hour the last of who was Andy’s lawyer friend.

I heard her before she got to the door a booming voice with an English accent that was different to Andy and Libby’s but still a pleasure to hear. Now call me stupid but I had a picture in my head of a beautiful tall smart woman as most of the English women I had met in recent times when I saw her I nearly choked on the water I was drinking.

She was about five foot tall and probably almost as wide and as she walked into the house she barged through the throng of people to embrace her old friend before turning and demanding an introduction to each of us. She was hilarious and full of life and the size of the body she occupied seemed large just for that purpose.

She regaled us with stories of the time she and Andy had spent together at university and had us all rolling about laughing at Andy’s first attempts at dating women which, by all accounts were less than successful. She sat and listened quietly as we told everyone about Angie’s pregnancy and her decision and then said that she was working on a way to get Holly away from her parent’s to be legally adopted by Andy and Rachel.
