This is My Family..chapter 41
Helena Peabody had crow feet. Barely, but it was obvious age was catching up with her, she Bette’s age for God’s sake. Dressed completely in black, with a pure white
valentino blouse she looked simply stunning, she was still tall but heavier around the waist, not too much…but in her youth she was quite slim. She held her coffee with both hands, a sign
she was nervous, and crossed her legs her head cocked to one side. She wondered whether Bette had an alterior motive…wondered whether Angelica told Bette what helena told
her. But Bette didn’t have a clue, helena knew Bette enough to know that if Bette knew….helena would have two black eyes this second. So she stayed quiet and nodded, answering
Bette’s petty questions about her health and the foundation, condolences about he rmother who died of a heart attack two years ago…she was waiting for the other shoe to drop. And
it didn’t take long.
Bette held her coffee with two hands too. She rubbed her thighs together, it was a little unnerving to be in front of Helena again, but all she was nervous about was telling
her about Tina. Though Bette really didn’t give a ***** about Helena she gave a ***** about Tina, and Tina did care about Helena. Enough to wonder how she was doing, if she was
happy…it was Tina’s nature, she didn’t like to end on bad terms. So Bette took a breath, and before her brain caught up with her blurted it out.
“Tina’s dead”
“what?”
“Tina, she-she got cancer adn we thought it was ok but…it came back so fast, and it was very unexpected, it was….it was quick though”
“……….”
“are you ok? i-i i know we hate each other but, for Tina’s memory, let’s not end on bad terms, she cared about you Helena she really did, she always told me she never stopped
caring that you should be happy and she hoped you were, she never wanted to hurt you it wasn’t in her nature, and i know Tina, and i know she card about you, and im….im
heartbroken….i dont know how you feel but i thought you should know…..she had cremated, and, and, and her ashes have already been spread and she’s at peace now Helena
she’s at peace”
“……………..”
“say something….”
“*****”
“what?”
“i hope you get hit by a car and die you trumped up hag”
With that Helena stood up, a shocked Bette was still sitting staring at Helena’s empty space. She should have known better. Helena Peabody did not show vunerable emotions in front
of people. Bette knew Helena would be crying later….but right now Bette wanted to kick her eyeballs back into her skull. She began to stand up, her muscles tensed. But Helena was
the type of person to have the last word, she was hurt by T’s death yes she was…later that day Helena would spend the afternoon crying in her hotel room…but right now all she was
feeling was hatred to the ***** who stole T back. Helena opened her mouth and spat out the very last venom, Her and Bette would never see each other again….”and just so you
know, i told Angelica about you and Tina’s break up, and about T and me…..everything, go shove that dynamite up your ***** and light it” With that Helena left, and both were gone
from each other’s life forever.

Did not see that coming out her i mean lol fix it!!!!!!!!
Another chapter very well written but full of sorrow. I could almost feel sorry for Helena but it’s no excuse. Bette was truely wonderful there. Oh dear Angie, I hope she is not going to be even more unhappy shortly. I hope Bette can be there for her but I’m not sure she will have the capacity, Angie needs her Aunts.
First I would like to say ‘sorry’. I’ve tried to comment but I keep missing words. I guess it’s too early to me to confront myself with all this feeling again… but I’ll try to do it, coz you’ve writing an excellent story.
Second, glad to hear you a ‘totally’ out -lol- I have a friend that is trying too but things are not good to her…
Anyways, that is what I wanted to say, at least part of it… If you don’t mind I would like to talk you… do you have an email?
I don’t think I have commented before on your story, but I love it. Yes it tears me up that Tina dies etc, but you are a great writer, I love your style. Please don’t be discouraged by rude comments, others obviously get a little too “Attached” to these characters. Keep up the good work, I’ll be egerly awaiting your future posts…thanks!
there’s a nude beach in vancouver??
I vacation in vancouver all the time will have to check it out. Oh and Cass seeing a fat naked old guy is enough to make any girl a lesbian. LMAO
Wow wasn’t expecting that from hella, that was kinda harsh.
Can’t wait to see who angie is in love with.
And you should know I will have your back, cause haters suck ass.
Another emotionally charged chapter. Your writing is getting better with every chapter. You are really coming into your own style. Thank you!!
THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY HELENA CAN COUPE WITH WHAT BETTE HAD TOLD HER.THE MEMORIES BETTE WAS HAVING ABOUT ANGELICA WAS BEAUTIFUL ..GREAT JOB..PLEASE POST SOON..GLAD EVERYTHING WENT WELL FOR YOU CASSANDRA B..THANKS
In the beginning I had trouble with this story but I could not ignore it….It just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work
Writing can be such a comforting release, isn’t it ?
Once more, what a marvellous deepness in this story that comes far beyond a fanfiction anyway… That’s a life depicture, with true emotions – and the power to bring tears in your readers’ eyes and serious thoughts in their hearts and minds…
I’m not surprised by Helena’s agressive reaction : following her own nature, that’s something very similar to Bette’s way to hid every possible memories of Tina in their house. That’s a way to protect ourselves against too intense and destructive emotions : burying everything inside, like Bette, finding comfort in hate and revenge, like Helena – and so many different ways for other people…
Now, for Bette and Angie, something could be helpful currently : Bette taking the ideal opportunity of Angie’s first love to share her own beginning story with Tina – an easier way, in fact, to endly let herself speak about Tina with their daughter through a much more positive link : mixing a past happiness with a possible new one, bringing hope in Angie’s mind and a relieving sweetness in Bette’s.
Thank you so much for everything you share with us, Cassandra, that’s a privilege.
… and, by the way, all my sincere congratulations for your so successfull coming out ! Your mother is obviously a wonderful person and that’s great.
