    The Time L-element (Part 3 Of 5)

    Jenny: You are so alive.

    Jenny smiles.

    Dana: Um…  Thanks!

    Jenny pulls away, still smiling.

Jenny: I should probably be relaxing, I’m just so wired right now.

Dana: Probably a good idea.  Look at it this way…at least you gave me something to distract myself with so I wouldn’t have to think about…

Dana closes her eyes.  She has only broken up with Alice the night before and reflection still stings her.

    Jenny: Dana.

    Dana: …Hm?

Jenny: You’re going to be alright.

Dana: …I really want to believe you.

Jenny: No.  You are.  I can see the future.  Really, I can and you…

Jenny pauses for a second as Dana looks on.

Jenny: …and Alice…you’re going to be friends again.  You will.  Trust me.

A tear rolls down Dana’s right cheek.

Dana: …I miss our friendship.  I really do.  I just wish I could go back…go back and just change things.

    Jenny: Believe me, I understand.

    Dana: Well…I’m glad you’re okay.

    Dana wipes away her tear.

Dana: Um…I gotta go practice.  See ya at the Planet tonight?

Jenny nods, soberly, still managing a slight smile.  The reality is beginning to set in.

Jenny: Yes.  I will be there.

    Dana: Okay.

Dana and Jenny give each other one more hug.

    Dana: Bye.

Dana backs away, opening the door.

    Jenny: …Bye.

Dana closes the door and departs.  Jenny looks down.

    -Saturday in Dr. Foxworthy’s office.-

Jenny: It was at that moment, I realized what my puprose truly was.  It was going to be up to me to save Dana.  I had been granted this chance by God or some mysterious force to keep a friend I love from dying.  So I forget about Lez Girls.  I forget about the book and the film and Niki and Aaron and all the bullshit.  It was no longer about them.  It was about Dana.  I can’t let her die, Doc.  I had to do something, but all I could think to do at that moment was go next door.

-It is later in the afternoon, back in time as Jenny is now at Bette and Tina’s home next door.-

The expressions are blank on Bette and Tina’s faces as they sit across from Jenny.  Angelica, Tina and Bette’s baby daughter is not even a month old as she sleeps in Bette’s arms.

    1. Jenny’s going to have to come up with a more subtle plan to convince everyone. Maybe a group pact to all get mammograms, maybe getting Lara on board, or maybe Jenny gets Dana drunk and seduces her, thus giving her a legitimate reason to have Dana topless. Although their last try at any kind of sex was awkward and laughably bad. I’m sure she’ll think of something. Thanks for posting.

    2. Oh yeah a group mammogram! It would probably end up like the S5 defense class somehow. lol On a serious note I do wish doctors encouraged getting mammograms done earlier than age 40. I had one prior to my breast reduction and it’s no big deal.

    3. ok somehow i have ended up reading what I promise myself never to indulge in being a Jenny story…but this ones seems to hold some redemption for the character so here I am along for the ride

    4. Hey Kace… Caught up on the last two parts… you my friend have such a unique sensibility for storytelling I cannot wait to see what you come up with next… but for now more please… JC
