    Bette awoke with a smile, recognizing Tina’s scent immediately. Then with an even bigger smile, she nudged her nose into Tina’s neck, her eyes taking in the delicious sight down into the cleavage before her. She closed her eyes again, inhaling deeply and pulling Tina closer. She could hardly believe last night was real, and that she was laying with her beautiful ex, but here she was, waking up next to her. It was like all those mornings they had shared together.

    "I know you’re awake."

    Bette could hear the smile in Tina’s voice, and it made her smile. "You always could tell."

    Tina smoothed her hand over Bette’s hair, trying to figure out what had happened between them, and what they would say next. Just as she searched the wall for answers, she heard Bette again.

    "T …" Bette started, opening her eyes to more soft flesh. It was getting difficult to concentrate. "… I need to say a few things …"

    Tina listened closely, making a decision aloud. "I think we should sit up for this." She could find herself reacting to Bette’s breath on her chest.

    "Yeah," Bette agreed, shifting around and sitting up in the bed, looking into Tina’s eyes. ‘Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,’ she thought, Tina’s eyes piercing right into her. She was such a sensual woman. She couldn’t help but think back to other moments Tina had drawn her in just as easily, and without effort.

    "So … how have you been?" Bette asked quietly, approaching Tina who sat at The Planet alone, drinking her morning coffee.

    "Bette-"

    "I won’t even sit down, okay?" Bette assured her, having been drawn to the woman with an indescribable force. It was something they had never lost. "I miss you, you know?"

    Tina dropped her head in her hand, shaking it all the while.

    "I can’t just ignore you," Bette said quietly, taking a sip of her own coffee and looking around for anyone they knew. All of their friends were very protective of Tina in her weakened state. Bette looked down to her, realizing just how weak she looked. She wanted to hold Tina, to tell her she was sorry, and she wanted to be the one to comfort her, but she couldn’t. And that broke her heart. "What do you want? … What do you really want, Tina?"
