    Lara and Shane have a discussion that gets heated; Carmen’s at The Planet; Alice is at KCRW.

    Shane: I don’t fucking believe this…

    Lara: True or false, Shane!

    The tone in Shane’s voice begins to bite more.

    Shane: Yeah…it was just a coincidence she wound up back with you shortly after.  And yeah…I did think it was fucked up that you and Al hooked up.

    The tone in Lara’s voice now begins to bite more as well.

    Lara: Well it isn’t, Shane.  It’s no more fucked up than you and Carmen being together after you left her at the altar, then hit her.

    Shane bites at her lower lip to keep from snapping.

    Shane: Alright then…I guess you’re still pissed at me.

    Shane stands up.

    Shane: But you got a lotta nerve, Lara.

    Lara: I do?

    Shane: Yeah, you do.

    Lara stands and crosses her arms.

    Lara: How so?

    Shane: You question my relationship with Carmen…  You’re concerned…  And all the while, you’re pissed because you don’t feel like part of the group.  And now you wanna become gal pal with Carmen because of that?  That’s fucked up, Lara.

    Lara: That’s not why we’re friends, Shane and you know it.  We became close just like Alice and Helena did and you and Jenny did.  Why does that bother you, Shane?  Does it bother you, because you just can’t dismiss me now as "Oh she’s just that girl that’s seeing one of my friends?"

    Shane: No, Lara it isn’t.

    Lara: Then what is it?

    Shane pauses for a moment as Lara waits for an answer.  Shane almost can’t even look at Lara as she speaks the next sentence.

    Shane: She has feelings for you.

    Lara: What???  No, she d-

    Shane: I’ve only seen her with a certain attitude and personality around a few people other than you.  Me…Jenny…

    Lara: And?

    Shane: Lara….Carmen and Jenny were girlfriends.  The way she is around me….the way she was around Jenny…she is around you.

    Lara: Are Carmen and Jenny still girlfriends?

    Shane: No.

    Lara: Then the Hell is the problem???

    Shane begins to unravel as she takes a step forward.

    Shane: The problem is that you could be next!!!!  And I don’t want you to steal her away from me like you took Dana from Al!!!!

    Lara: I DID NOT TAKE HER AWAY FROM ALICE!!!!!

    Shane: BULLSHIT!!!!!
