    Dana’s funeral

     

     

     

    She had been lying in bed watching the interplay – Alice being mad, Shane the ultra cool and Dana so embarrassed – and Bette good naturedly joining in – the only one who supported Dana – who stated without doubt that Dana was too public a figure at the club to make a move on Lara without knowing for certain if Lara was interested or just being nice to the tennis player.

     

    And now only three of the five remained – no one had seen Bette since she had left after the night of Provocations – even if Kit knew where her sister was she refused to divulge that information and Dana was dead. Even the new comers to the group did not have the presence of the permanently confused tennis player and the strong willed Gallery Director.

     

     

    Tina sat beside Helena Peabody who greeted her with a cool nod of acknowledgement. There had been a time when Tina had thought that the aloof Brit was attracted to her but Tina’s affairs with several men had shattered the very lesbian world that she moved in.

     

    She loved the others and she knew that they cared for her but her bisexuality had been a shock that had rocked them – Shane had still not come to terms with it – Tina knew that Shane missed living next door to her and Bette deeply and despite it being Bette’s affair that had ended their seven year marriage it was Tina who felt that the others blamed for driving Bette away.

     

    How’s Alice ? I have just flown in from New York.

     

    Especially for the funeral ?

     

    Yes — I needed to be here for Alice – she loved Dana so much.

     

    I know that – I feel bad for not going to see Dana in hospital more than I did.

     

    Helena regarded the blonde with interest . She knew that the gang that hung out at the Planet could not understand Tina’s behaviour since Bette Porter left LA. Alice had spent many hours over coffee going over and over why Tina would go back to men.

     

     

    Helena had her own theory – she had never been introduced to Bette but her mother spoke of her in glowing terms. Peggy left Helena in no doubt that Bette was something special. And that was the key – after Bette Porter all other women would be a poor substitute for Tina Kennard.

    14. I was a little hesitant to read this one……I thought it might be too sad reading about Dana’s funeral, but knowing that you were the author, I knew it had to be good……and of course you didn’t disappoint. I love the L Wing and it looks like this is going to be another winner!

    36. Wow,nice! First I am glad that you did not make Bette pathetic and mourning after Tina. It appeared as though she was able to move on. Secondly Henry just rubs me the wrong way, not because he is a man but because, no matter what frame of reference he is placed in all I can see is him fucking Tina against Bette’s bedroom door in thier house. The way in which Tina went about the whole situation just makes me puke! So I will always regard him in a ill way. Besides that he is just not hot and has no chemistry with Tina, AT ALL! Anywho, please give us another chappy! Dying to know what happened with Bette after the two years!
