Bette said looking back at her book. Tina knew that had been a veiled dig at her for some reason. She was about to question Bette but a sound from the baby monitor told them both that Danny was now awake.
“I’ll go “
Bette did not even wait for a reply – she just got up and walked past Tina and into the bedroom. Tina stared after her wondering what the hell was happening.
She spotted the bags that Bette had not yet opened – there were two from a well known LA baby store. She pulled the bags closer and looked inside – baby grows, another mobile for above his crib, a teddy bear and a blue blanket for his crib.
After five minutes Tina followed Bette into their room ready to see her lover nursing their son. What she saw instead was Bette sitting holding Danny and crying. Danny was crying as well – not screaming but crying – screaming was most definitely his next gear change.
“Honey — what is it – what’s wrong ? “

“Bette – we’ve agreed to communicate if we are going to make this work – what has happened — are you in pain ? “

Way too many hormones raging in the Kennard-Porter house. Everyone take a deep breath and get back to where they should be.
tina’s last statement was really odd…i know bette should trust her but tina also should understand her fears…plus they are both hormonal…and they don’t need drama right now
So Bette’s 41 and Tina’s in her 30s. Too bad neither has found the time to grow up, to bad neither has learned to discuss emotional things in a rational manner. Love is NOT enough.

I agree with Jwet… That takes a hell of a writer to be able to write such conflicting emotions filled chapters on the same day! Don’t know what to think, except that they’re both under the effect of the surging of an overload of hormones right now. Apparently I didn’t get my copy of the memo that says masturbation when you’re in a relationship is a bad thing. I’ll have one of my 8 bosses (or hell maybe all of them) give me a copy before the end of the day. I read Tina’s parting line several times trying to figure out in which way she meant it. I can only assume it was the way Bette didn’t want to think about.
