“But…T…” Bette tried to object to Tina’s statement…the tears were rolling down to her cheeks.

“No! No but, no if…just do it…” Tina kissed Bette’s lips and hugged her tight, like it was their last time together.

“I love you…” Tina whispered in her ear.

“I love you more…forever!” Bette said, holding her tight. 

Tina walked her out to the front door. There was car waiting for them. Tina helped Victoria, so she was safely lying on the back seat, resting her head on Bette’s thigh. Bette looked one more time at Tina, searching her eyes. When their gaze met, Bette saw the tears welling up in Tina’s eyes. She was trying to stay strong and not showing her friends how scared she was, because she was even if she couldn’t feel it. It was strange to her watching the car driving off. She waived and walked back inside. In the living room her mother was sitting in the old rocking chair, looking dreamingly at the book in her hands. If only she knew it was not the real one…

“So…what do you want from me now…” Tina asked without much emotion in her voice…

“You know your job…finish with Riley and you may be free to go…” Paula said, not even bothering to look up.

“What If I don’t…then what…you’ll kill me?”

“No…I’ll make you suffer, then I’ll kill your friends and family and then maybe I’ll kill you…”

“You’re such a role model for a mother you know!’ Tina said shaking her head in disbelieve.

“Who cares…I’ll rule the world soon…!” Paula said laughing devilish…

  The mood in the car was like on a funeral. Everybody ware quiet, thinking what just had happened in their lives. Bette didn’t know what hit her, in one moment they were happy, and the next the nightmares starts and the whole madness after that turns her world upside down. She wanted to close her eyes and never open them again. She wanted to sleep, and everything to be a bad dream, just a bad dream full of crazy little gnomes and fairies and bad mothers and…and…nothing…

“I have to go back…” Bette said all of a sudden…

“What? Bette you can’t go back…we can’t go back…we just left…remember?” Alice said tuning her body to face Bette.
