    Chapter 19

    “So you arranged the whole wedding without Tina knowing” The young tech asked Bette.

    “Everything, I had Tina’s dress all laid out for her, all she had to do was get dressed, it was then that we realized that I had forgotten something” Bette replied “Tell them Tee”

    Tina would have shook her head if it wasn’t braced down, she couldn’t remember, she closed her eyes tight, desperately trying to remember their wedding day, the harder she tried the more she was forgetting about that day

    “Tee” Bette tried again the alarm bells beginning to ring when Tina didn’t respond. “Shane?” Bette called

    “Yeah” Shane looked up surprised at the concern in Bette’s voice, she only been half listening while she concentrated on removing this last piece of the tumour.

    “STOP” Tina screamed “I can’t remember, I can’t remember marrying you, please stop, I don’t want to forget, I can’t forget, stop please” Tina managed through her tears.

    Bette’s heart broke in an instant, second only too Tina not making it through this operation this was her worst nightmare unveiling itself right before her eyes and she was powerless to stop it.

    Shane secured the levers and moved to the side of the table. “Tina, we will just take a minute ok, the last part of this tumour is the part that could effect your memory, and I mean could, take a deep breath and just relax ok” Shane took Tina’s hand before looking up at Bette who had her head in her hands.

    “Shane, You’ve got most of right can’t you just stop now”

    “Tina we talked about this, if I don’t take it all out it will just grow back and at the rate it grew over the last week it won’t take long before we’re back to where we started”

    “How long Shane, how long will I have if we just leave it”

    “Tina that is not an option, if we leave it you will die” Shane raised her voice in an attempt to reinforce the seriousness of what Tina was obviously contemplating.

    “How long?” Tina demanded

    “Tina no” Bette’s voice boomed through the speakers “Don’t do this Tee, don’t do this, Tina, look at me”

    3. Fantastic chapter. Their remembrances of their life together was really sweet and loving. Did I miss the heart attack part or did you just not write it for us. Then it was alright when Tina remembered Bette forgetting the shoes and Shane poking fun at them standing in the middle of a monsoon after their wedding vows. And now… Now I’m worried again.
