The Gathering 01.49 – Chaotic Bliss pt 5 – New Day Dawns

Sam slid down into a sitting position, she felt the walls closing in on her the warm water washing over her as she listened to Shane talking, she’d lost the thread of what she was saying.  It was all to hard to hear, stop talking Shane, I get it.  I got it, she sighed.

“…so I put a lot of thought into it, and I think that is what we should do, if you think its ok and all?  Sam are you going to answer me?”  Sam snapped back to reality and muttered a weak and barely audible.

“I didn’t catch part of that but yeah if that’s what you want to do.”

“That’s my answer?  I was hoping for something more definite.”  Scoffed Shane, and Sam painstakingly got to her feet, she turned the water off.  What was with this attitude, she was breaking it off and she was getting huffy?

“What did you expect me to say?”  Sam said ripping open the shower curtain to see a serious Shane sitting on the toilet, her face pleading.

“Yes would have been a great answer.”  Shane admitted begrudgingly.

“Oh sure, yes I want you to walk out of my life, well I wasn’t thinking of a yes sort of answer for that situation.  I was thinking of a, ‘why now Shane?‘  Or how about, ‘do you think we can talk a little more about this you leaving thing?’ ” Sam sighed grabbing a towel and feeling the need to sit down suddenly, she was light headed.  She slumped onto the side of the tub, looking at Shane with tired eyes.

“What?”  Shane said her voice smokey and ***** as she started to smile broadly.

“You didn’t just say you were, well a for lack of a better term, breaking up with me?”  Sam was confused, now the look of utter amusement was spreading from Shane‘s face and her body shook in laughter.

“No, did you space on me woman?  The drugs are really playing havoc on our conversations.  I asked you a question.”  Sam narrowed her eyes and waited. “I asked you to marry me Sam.”
