The Art of Chemistry (2)
“I do,” Bette smiled, leaning her head back to close her eyes. “Enjoy the beach, Tina.”
With her shaky breath and butterflies dancing in her stomach, Tina leaned back on the beach blanket and tried to relax.
“But don’t tan whatever you do,” Bette smirked, laying her hands by her sides and nearly touching Tina’s in the process. “Alice hates tanning.”
Tina could barely breathe.

“She was a snob.”
“That just can’t be true,” Shane insisted, looking over the counter before grabbing a pear and walking over to the sink as Bette put her purse down.
“You know you didn’t have to wait for me to come home – I gave you a key for a reason,” Bette insisted, taking the clip out from her hair to shake it free at last.
“You’re changing the subject,” Shane smiled, biting into the delicious fruit as she crossed her arms. “I want to hear about this. It seems like she really affected you.”
Bette groaned as she walked down the hallway to change out of her jeans and into shorts because of the heat. “She hardly even spoke to me – I don’t know what kind of lasting impression that can leave.”
“But was she hot?” Shane smirked, knowing the annoyance she would soon her in Bette’s tone of voice.
“Can we please drop this ridiculous conversation?” Bette asked, appearing once again in the doorway of her kitchen. “Careful, you’re gonna get that all over the floor.”
“No, that’s mango – the really juicy, sexy fruit. I wonder if this hot blond likes mangos …” She couldn’t help but laugh when Bette threw a grape at her from the other counter.
Bette stood with her arms crossed, arching her brow. “Who told you she was hot?”
“Well, we both know it’s not my kind of thing to poke around in your business, but I think you’d only be blushing like that if she was really hot. So come on, was she nice-hot or sexy-hot.”
Bette nearly laughed, but was too embarrassed. She was sensitive, although her confidence often masked her truer nature. “Shane …”
“Okay, just tell me one thing. You know how I hate to get all ‘Alice’ on you, but you haven’t had a woman in your life for a long time.”

Hi GR thanks for posting! The way you describe the situations is so vivid! It’s so cute and hilarious. In the other hand, I can imagine how torturing it is to regret on your own awkwardness while you actually would like to be yourself and presenting the best of you in front of somebody! …Looking forward to read more! PPVS :-) and … Thanks for rivergirl2121 for sharing it with GR (and us) and giving her inspiration to write this story :-)
Just caught up. This is just wonderful thank you love it.
neither woman is very artful at the moment. I hope one of them gets it together soon.
This is a very interesting start and I really like it, even more so in that it is based on a true story.
