Storm Watch 02.08 – Bed Of Lies

“Carmen a P.A. is going to be your guide for the day.  I’ll be busy snapping pictures darling.  So we should be there at 6am at that address.”  Sam pointed to the address scrawled across the front.

“6!!!  As in the morning, am?”  Shane was stunned not having rolled out of bed before 10am in over two years.  Unless she was rolling out to get into her own bed, it was a ghastly thought to have to wake up this early in the morning.

“Shane just think of all the fun you are going to have.”  Alice said with a laugh in her voice.  Tina started to get up picking up her bag.  She fumbled with it, and her cell phone fell silently to the table and she didn’t notice it was there.

“Where are you going?”  Dana asked and Tina looked at the time again, and she was late, not really late, but late nonetheless.  She didn’t want to be late; she’d rather be early if she had anything to say about it.

“I have this thing for lunch with Oscar.”  She lied; she wasn’t ready to tell them about Ro, she wasn’t sure she wanted to tell them.  Rosita was a little gem that she liked keeping to herself.

“Oh.  Are you going to come home tonight? Or are you going to sneak out in the middle of the night?”  Asked Alice and the tabled looked up comically at Tina.  As if Tina sneaking out was an alien concept.

“I’ll see you for supper.  I’ll bring some takeout.”  Tina said in a bored voice as she turned and walked out briskly, her head low as she put on her sunglasses.  The table was silent for a minute then they all turned to Alice.  When she didn’t say anything, she just sipped her coffee intently.

“Talk.”  Shane said and Sam leaned back in her chair, watching as Alice began to speak.  Shane kept tossing glances at Sam‘s hands, and she wondered why.

“She snuck out after the lap dance, and she didn’t come home until lunch.”  Alice said, as if the statement spoke volumes, she sipped more coffee.
