“Do you really think so?” Kit nods and I sigh

“Yeah I do, just remember Tina all of the gang’s going so you won’t need to worry about support” I chuckle. Kit was right; I was going to have a lot of support which made my decision about going to the opening a lot easier

“Thanks Kit” Kit smiles warmly “I feel better knowing that you and gang are going to be there because I don’t think I could go through it alone” Kit knew by my answer that I was going to go to the opening

“Just wear something that will completely knock the wind outta my baby sis’s lungs” we chuckle and make an afternoon of deciding what I’ll wear to the opening

Alice and Dana’s house, LA, Normal POV

Shane had heard from Kit that Melvin was in town and had been causing problems for Tina. She had rushed to Alice and Dana’s to tell them the news. Damon was at school and Dana was at practice so Alice was the only one in the house

“Al, Melvin’s in town” Alice’s face drops like a lead balloon. She hates Melvin and Melvin hates her

“Let my guess he’s causin misery” Shane nods sadly

“He went around to Tina’s place and told her that we all have to stay away from Bette when she gets home because he’s got some ‘hunk’ waiting to marry her” Alice’s face was a mixture of disgust and shock. How dare Melvin say that to the love of Bette’s life?

“Tell me you’re fuckin kidding me” Shane shakes her head and Alice sighs heavily “What a fuckin homophobic ass rat” Shane raises her eyebrows and shrugs

“He’s also going to the opening, he kinda heard through the grapevine” Alice’s head drops in disbelieve “Tina’s gonna go nuts” Alice sighs again. She knew Tina was nervous about seeing Bette again but see Melvin there too was going to make a whole lot worse

“Does Kit know?” Shane shakes her head “Shit” Both women sigh “One of us is gonna have to tell her and Tina” Shane shot her head and shakes her head

“I ain’t putting myself in the way of Tina’s left hook” Alice shakes her head

“I guess I’ll just have to risk of a broken jaw and bruised eye” Shane nods her head. Alice sighs “Unless I phone her” Shane smiles. It would save them both a black eye

“Good idea” Alice picks up her phone and dials Tina’s number

“Tina Kennard” Alice smiles at how professional Tina sounds on the phone

“TK its Alice” Tina looks over to Kit and mouths ‘Alice’ Kit smiles and rolls her eyes “I thought you should know that Melvin is going to the opening on Friday” Tina’s face drops in concern. Melvin was going to make Bette’s return party a fucking nightmare

“Thanks Al, I really appreciate the warning” Tina hangs up and shakes her head on disbelieve

“What is it” Kit couldn’t read the expression on Tina’s face

“It’s Melvin he’s somehow found out about the opening and now he’s going” Kit sighs heavily and shakes her head, she knew her father would try to make their lives a living hell at the opening “I swear if he ruins Bette’s big night I’ll kill him” Kit puts a supportive arm around my shoulders. She knew we couldn’t let Melvin win

“He won’t do that to Bette no matter how cruel he can be, he won’t ruin Bette’s moment in the spotlight” I want so much to believe Kit but I knew how cruel Melvin could be and I knew I wasn’t going to let him ruin Bette’s big night
