“Really?” Alice asks, happily. “That’s so great!”

            The guests are all in Phyllis’s backyard. Wait staff weave their way through the guests on the patio, offering up wonderful hors d’oeuvres and flutes of champagne. On the dance floor, guests move with the music spun by the DJ. Molly, Shane, Alice and Tasha have met up with Bette, Tina, Helena, Cindy, Jenny, Niki, Kit, Max and Tom. They are all discussing the party and their speculations on what Phyllis and Joyce are announcing, when the sultry strains of an R&B song start to play. Molly smiles and takes Shane’s hand, leading her to the dance floor. The rest of their friends follow suit. Upon reaching the dance floor, Molly begins to sway seductively. For a moment, Shane just stands there, one hand on her hip, the other over her mouth, watching her, enraptured by her sensuality. Molly moves closer to Shane and wraps her arms around her neck. Shane brings her hands to Molly’s hips and begins to slowly move with her. Sliding her hands up to Molly’s back, Shane pulls her even closer. As they dance, they get lost in each other’s embrace. The music suddenly stops, as the DJ says that it is time for the big announcement. Shane and Molly though, do not hear the music stop and continue to sway together. Everyone around them watches with smiles on their faces, as they can see the love between these two women. Molly opens her eyes and looks around to see everyone staring at them. Embarrassed, she jumps back from Shane and laughs nervously.

            “Shit,” she mutters, as everyone begins to laugh.

            The DJ calls for everyone’s attention again, as Phyllis and Joyce take the DJ podium.

            “I just want to thank everyone for coming tonight,” Phyllis begins. “Joyce and I have some wonderful news that we want you all to share in.” She looks over at Joyce, smiles, takes her hand and says, “Joyce and I have decided to get married!” Joyce and Phyllis kiss, as the guests all cheer them on.

            Shane pulls Molly to her side and says, “Told you so.”

            Phyllis continues, “Thank you. Thank you. I know you all know how much of a journey these past couple years have been for me and I want to thank you for your support and your love. Your friendship means the world to both me and Joyce.”
