    Much as the brunette wanted to give it a go on the scene, she’d like it more to see him get this first painting done all by himself. She would stand beside him and walk him through every step of the way. But it had to be his work. “We always have a camera for it, you know. And why don’t you ask mama T if she can teach you to use it? I think she’s become quite an expert on that thing.”

    “Really? But it looks so heavy!”

    “That’s what the tripod is for. Go, learn before the sun goes down.” She flashed him a wink and pushed him slightly toward the blonde woman.

    So the boy ran to his other mother. And dragged her after him to where he was standing, to get the perfect photo from the previous angle. He was quick to get a grip on turning the button and adjust the focus of the camera.

    Tina let him explore. He stood in front of her. She noticed that he seemed taller, even than yesterday, and had already reached her chin. Short curly hair started to sprout fast on his shaved head. In less than two months, he’d gain his full head of puffy hair back and by that time, she suspected that he’d block her vision completely. Despite her reluctance to see him grow up so quickly, she was proud. It had been such an impossible mission, for her to raise him alone. But it was all in the past. Now she had everything, a loving wife, a brilliant son, a perfect family. She glanced sideway to the brunette observing the boy with carefulness and amazement. Then she thought about their earlier conversation. It was, indeed, a pitiful shame that she missed his life for six years. The thought brought some cloud on top of her mind, and it didn’t really go away for the following few days in Rome.

     

    Alice, after days of searching, practically living in the shopping malls, was finally satisfied by the leather shoes she pampered herself with. Then she finally remembered her duty to be a babysitter for her friends. She stuck out tongue to herself for having abandoned them on the first days of the trip. But where she could take the boy with her? Hmmm… kids love Disney World. Though Michelangelo was no ordinary kid, he still watched everything on the Disney channel, and according to Bette, he even drew cartoon characters from the television for his girlfriend on their “monthiversary”. That little Casanova, Alice snickered to herself.

      I don’t know. It’s such a relief for me to actually finish a story. And it’s sad for me too.
      This story, although originally a little side-away, a break from the other one, now holds a very special place in my experience on this fanfic site.

      My readers, your passion and your appreciation fueled my strength all the way to make this happen. I sincerely thank you for that.

      Tomorrow my journey to build a life abroad starts. I’m sorry if there’ll be less frequent posts on my other story “The Lucky One”, but I’ll try my best to continue writing.

Im so sad to see this is the end, but as they say “all good things must come to end”.
