Planet Terror: Little Shop of Horrors
They bared their teeth and screeched—just before their heads exploded.
“Fucksake…” Bette laughed with relief. “Those guys can sure shoot.”
“All right, let’s move, please, I want to get out of here.” Alice said, shaking slightly. She moved toward the aisle with vehicle parts
Twenty minutes later, the three emerged from the Hardware store and made their way to the vehicles. Alice straddled the Chopper while Bette climbed into the driver’s side of the truck. Lara stood and looked around.
“Ok…” she touched Bette’s shoulder, and they started off ahead of Alice.
Alice was having a hard time starting the bike for some reason.
“Guys, my bike won’t…fucking…start” Alice swore, looking ahead and waving impatiently. The truck continued slowly away, waiting for her still.
Bette stopped and waited a moment, looking in her rearview mirror at Alice.
“Wait, what is that?” Bette asked, looking over her shoulder quickly. “Lara…”
“Alice!” Lara looked through binoculars at a distant threat. Her voice was urgent but she spoke only loudly enough to alert Alice to the presence of the infected, running slowly in the distance.
They were coming close, fast. Alice still had not noticed what was wrong.
“What babe?” She looked up at Lara, just as the sound of feet pounding on pavement became evident. “Oh SHIT!” Alice struggled with the bike, unsure of what to do.
“Fuck!” The chopper wouldn’t start. Alice fumbled with her tool belt, but dropped it when she realized that it was now the least of her worries. She tried to swing her Vulcan around, but couldn’t muscle it over as she tried to start the bike.
“Alice….Alice, come here, forget the bike!” Bette called in the distance. She was far enough away that Alice had to make a decision—knowing she might not make it to the truck before those things caught her.
High pitched screeching filled her ears as she threw the bike aside and began to run.
Bette tried to put the truck in reverse while Lara leveled her gun. Simultaneously, the truck stalled and Lara fumbled with her automatic rifle.
“SHIT!” Bette shouted. “Fucking START you motherFUCKER!” She was panicking, trying to restart the truck.

Huh?
I just managed to get caught up with this. By all rights, it shouldn’t be half as captivating as it is, since it’s pretty strange…but I fucking LOVE it. I guess that speaks more for my own morbidity than it does anything else, but I’m really enjoying this. I may not make a hell of a lot of sense, but it’s still well done. I’m glad you’re still continuing it.
This chapter was really good, you scared me with Alice and Tina hehe… where is Jenny? I miss her craziness =P thanks helebette I loved it!!
I thought Al was done for… And although that was quite tastefully done, that’s about all the Tina I want to see in this story. Ace chapter… Now I’ll have to skive some more and read Life Happens. Thanks
Ew, gouging out of eyes, I agree, I thought Al was done for, you’re mischievous when it comes to Tina, but you know that! I’m glad Al’s ok … stop scaring us like that, ok, don’t stop, cos then it wouldn’t be PT, but you know what I mean … grr .. hehe
Un menage a trois? Mon Dieu! Took you long enough, I was considering sending another scolding your way. Death as an existance on an alternate plane? Philosophy on top of schlock horror? Get you, helebette. OK, so what’s the deal with Tina? Is she really from another plane or just the product of dream stuff? Is there a difference between the two? And what’s with the zombies getting stronger and smarter with time?
Quelle nail-biter. I really hope Alice doesn’t end up zombified or dead. Zombification is a natural fit for Jenny, but Alice functions best as a human being. Not to mention that taking her out of the picture would deprive the survivors of some much-needed comic relief. LOVE the shopping-mall setting, with its Dawn of the Dead overtones (original version I hope).
