”What do you mean?”

”I mean how many of those have you had?”

”I’m not counting.”

”Don’t you think you should?”

”And why would that be?”

”Because our children are over there.”

”They aren’t going to notice me.”

”You don’t know that, T.”

”Bette, can you just mind your own business?”

”No, you’re my business. I care about you T.”

”Just stop.” She says. ”Go be with Rachel.”

”I’m more worried about you.”

”There is nothing to worry about. I’m going to head back to my room to find Danielle.” She begins to turn and leave again.

This time I let her make it through the building entrance before following her more.

”I know Tina.”

”Know what?”

”That Danielle left.”

”She didn’t leave, what are you getting on with?”

”I talked to Shane.”

I watch her become silent.

”I told her that to get her off my back.”

”Like you are telling me this now so I can get off of your back.”

”Bette, I’m fine. Just leave.”

She carries on walking until she turns the corner and I begin to follow her more.

”You can follow me all you want but you aren’t coming into my room.”

”Why are you lying to me?”

”Isn’t that normal for us?” She says. ”To lie.” She continues. ”Haven’t we been doing that most of our lives?”

”No Tina.”

”Pretty well seems like it.”

We approach her room and I stop her from using her key card.

”Listen, I’m not leaving you alone unless I’m putting you to bed.”

”I’m not going to bed, we have yet to see Tasha promise to Alice.”

”If you lay off the vodka and sober up a little with me now, I’ll take you back out.”

”You’re not the boss of me Bette.”

”No I am not but I’m caring for you T.”

She unlocks her room and holds the door open for me. ”Fine. Come in.”

I enter and notice the mess.

”Don’t mind the mess. Haven’t gotten time to clean up.” She says stepping towards the washroom and closes the door.

My eyes glance around more. This isn’t a usual mess that you made while getting ready or rushing. This was the kind of mess that was purposely made, the kind of mess that you create out of anger.
