Pieces Of Time – Chapter XVI

I walk towards the dresser and notice the note that Shane had told me about.

The simple writing of ”I’m sorry.” It tends to anger me but I control it.

I hear the bathroom door open and I quickly turn.

”I’ll get you some water.” I say opening the mini fridge and pulling out a bottle of water.

”Do you know how much mini fridge and snacks cost?”

”Preferably a shit ton but we’ll be fine.”

She sits on the bed and I step towards her and hand her the bottle.

We sit beside each other for minutes that feel like hours in silence.

    ”Why?” I ask.

    ”Why?” She responds.

”Why wouldn’t you tell me the whole thing between you and Danielle?”

”Because I know how you would react and a part of me wanted to show you that I also had found someone again. Even though it wasn’t perfect, I just never wanted to show you that part.”

”Rachel and me aren’t perfect either T.” I say. ”She is much more wild then me.”

”But besides her wild side, I can see the smile she brings out in you.”

”She does make me smile but that doesn’t mean we are perfect.”

    ”Why is this never easy?”

”Nothing in life is easy, T.”

”But don’t we deserve it? Don’t we deserve it after all we’ve been through?”

”It just doesn’t work that way.”

”I never expected for me to be that much of a bother that I literally drove someone away.”

    ”Is that what you think?”

    ”Why shouldn’t I?”

”You should never think that way.”

    ”Because?”

”Because you are the kindest most heart filled person I have ever known. Any person would be lucky to have you. I know I was. You could never drive anyone away. She simply was blind and couldn’t see what she had.”

We fall silent again and I begin to hear soft cries.

I quickly turn my head to notice tears running down her eyes.

”Don’t let her ruin this trip. You still got me, you got our friends, and most importantly our children.”

She leans her head to rest on my shoulder and I pull her closer.

I hold her for a few minutes before we come face to face and I pull her lips closer to mine.

    1. Great update. Rachel needs to come clean with Bette and Shane needs to put a zipper on it and stay to herself. This info will not bother Bette too much because her feelings are for Tina, not Rachel. Tina needs to stop running away from Bette and let herself feel. She knows she still loves Bette and they need to sit still and talk about their feelings. Great chapter. Thanks for posting.
