Out of Closet (TiBette time-travel romance), Ch. 67: Long road back home
The 19th of July was quickly approaching and Bette was getting very anxious. It felt like a lifetime when she came through the portal three months ago. So much had happened since then but she was ready for the next chapter of her life with Tina by her side.
“I just need to jump through. Nothing to it. At the stroke of midnight I just jump. Just jump,” Bette kept repeating it like a mantra. The idea of something going wrong at the last minute was making her nervous.
July 19, 1886
In the morning of her departure Bette woke up with a major migraine. Stress was causing her all sorts of anxiety and trepidation, even to the point of abandoning her decision to go back to the future. Just for a brief moment…but then the thought of Tina waiting for her there would fill her mind with such peace and excitement that all doubts would instantly disappear.
The day moved so slow that Bette thought it would never end and she spent it preparing herself mentally and physically for the grueling time travel. When the evening finally came, Bette breathed out a sigh of relief and went to her father’s office to wait.
She sat at her father’s desk with the glass of scotch, watching the Grandfather’s clock in the room’s corner moving slowly, counting minutes when she had to go back to the future where she belonged. Servants were away, her mother was asleep and she already said her goodbyes. A soft knock on the door nearly startled her and she said cautiously, “Come in…”
“The front door was open,” Christina walked in and smiled shyly.
“What are you doing here?”
“I came to say my final goodbyes. I…” Christina shook her head, hoping to speak without crying. “It’s very hard for me to know that I will never see you again…and still hard to believe about all these time travel you told me about.”
Bette offered her a glass of scotch but Christina declined, “A glass of water, perhaps.”
Bette left the room to get the water, thankful for a short break because she was getting emotional as well. It’s hard to say goodbye to someone you love but it’s even harder to say goodbye more than once. When she came back, Christina was sitting in the chair with her head down, as if she was asleep. She heard Bette coming back and smiled, “Let’s go outside for a minute, to our oaks.”

Hi! Thank you for your decision to continue and finish this story!
So, about the chapter – i must say i never like Helena. In some stories and TLW i hate her, in some stories i indifferent to her. In your story – first option.
But i hope Bette was not too late and it was her in bed with Tina.
Waiting for the final chapter!
O-M-G!! You made my day. Hell, my entire year. Wonderful update. Such imagination with the entire plot line. Great character arc for Bette. Love, love, love this story. So happy we’ll finally learn how it turns out. No pressure now, but I think a fitting day to post your final chapter is October 18, the 10th anniversary of Chapter 1.
BetteAndTinaForever
Wow, it was about time, I honestly was thinking to send you another pm as the last year, asking you for a new chapter; but is fine, I have problems with my time too, jobs are always in the way.
As Zhenya, I also pray that the one beside Tina is Bette and no the psycho of Helena.
I hope you could update soon, and write another story later, maybe a little bit shorter because of the time, but I really would like to read more of your stories, this is so good, please, keep writing.
Thanks for the update and again, please post soon.

Finally!!! It does not matter to wait a year to read this story because they are so good that it’s worth it, but please finish it before I’m dying to know the end (an ending that many pages). Congratulations and thanks.
what an exciting chapter!! can’t wait for the next!!!
thank you!!!
BetteandTinaForever,
It is now the last day in August 9 days since you posted this Chapter.
I have done a complete re-read and enjoyed it more, I think, than the first read. although, as a 75 year old, I am a little disturbed that all your Grandma characters seem to be in homes and losing their minds!
Please, Please post the Final Chapter of this great story this weekend and make my day! Certainly do not wait until October – I love CellaNox but think this a stupid idea! :-)
This is a great story and I will be sorry to see it end and will be first in line to ask for an Epilogue
Living in hope

I agree with SassyGran – if you can – don’t wait until October to post last chapter!
Great to see a new chapter of this wonderful story, I’m hoping Bette showed up in the knick of time kicked Helena’s ass and fell asleep waiting for the drug to wear off. They really don’t need this type of crap after all they have been through. PPS
You are not forgetting about us, aren’t you? Please, finish this great story!
Hi! Still waiting for the last chapter!
