Only Women Bleed – Chapter 7
“Actually, it seemed to correspond with Angelica’s first period,” Bette said, a bit taken aback that this woman knew about their family time.
“Angelica doesn’t strike me as the type of girl to be thrown by that, but maybe we expect her to deal with things differently than other girls, when in fact she is having a normal pre-teen reaction to her changing body,” offered Sarah.
“I don’t know. Tina and I are very worried about her. I would like to make an appointment for us to come in.”
“You and Angelica?” questioned Sarah.
“All three of us,” answered Bette.

Bette sat on the edge of the bed and looked at her daughter’s sleeping form. She appeared peaceful now, unlike earlier. Bette laid her hand on the light blanket, patting in a gentle, reassuring motion. Angie rarely climbed into Bette’s bed, but last night she was trembling and cold after waking from her dream. Bette had cuddled her, pulling her close to stop the shaking and transferring her warmth to her precious girl.
“What’s wrong baby?” she whispered. “Please tell Mama what’s wrong.”
Angelica, pretending to be asleep, made no reply.

Tina looked stunning when Bette opened the door. Bette immediately wondered if Tina’s date from last night was the first to see the sophisticated but casual sundress-and-sandal outfit she was wearing this morning. She inwardly chastised herself for the thought.
“Where is she?” asked Tina, after giving Bette a quick peck on the cheek.
“She’s still in bed.”
“What do you think it is Bette?” asked Tina, concern furrowing her brow.
“I really wish I knew. I hope you don’t mind, but I scheduled an appointment for us with Sarah on Monday, late afternoon,” said Bette.
“You did?” Tina’s surprise was evident in her inflection.
“Yes. I saved the card you gave me when Angie started going to see Sarah. I’m sorry if I stepped over the line,” Bette said quietly.
“No, I’m sorry if it came across that way,” replied Tina, reaching over to touch Bette on the arm. “I’m glad you called,” she continued with a reassuring smile.

very interesting, I am enjoying it very much.pps
Hey 24b4t, I must say you has me there when Angie was having that dream and I thought it was Mikey too,,,but happy it wasnt’,, I like howAngie has both her mothers on the palm of her hand,,,LOl she is good and I like how you have the interaction with B&T its a good one where they listen to each other, great job!!
Angie really shouldn’t keep this to herself anymore. She won’t heal if she doesn’t talk about it.
Still don’t LIKE MIKEY!!! He is not coming to Angie’s aid, but he instead asks her to not say again as if he was the actuall MONSTER!!! Could it be his DAD???? Please let Angie tell!!
More, please. This is getting so good.
I hope Angie will open up in therapy and I hope this whole ordeal will bring B & T closer. PPS!!
so the ex-stepfather, Henry [?] sexually abused Angie[?] and she’s trying to protect TINA, and Bette…Mikey MUST speak up to help his sister…and her parents…pps
IF its Henry, actuall whomever it is, I’m sure Mamma B is gonna want to kill someone. Mike isn’t helping by keeping it quiet either. Love the little banter between B &T and how Angie and Alice fill in the information for them so they don’t have to ask the questions.
Poor Angie. I’m glad Bette made the appointment with the therapist. I hope they can get to the bottom of her nightmares, and quickly! Great post 24B&T! More please…
Tina should celebrate Bette’s birthday this year because both are excited that the other is not really in a relationship. Besides Angelica and the rest of the family would benefit if Bette and Tina were a family again.
Poor Angie, and who the hell is that baster and just wanted to kill him!
Hmm… Mike’s doing the wrong thing by keeping it quiet, and he’s definitely lost Angie’s trust. I hope it all comes out in the sessions. As for Porter’s 50th… I think Tina likely has *loads* of very specific ideas on how she and Bette could celebrate it. Thanks for the update, 24.
i’m glad it wasn’t mikey but who’s the monster? i know you said there’s hope, so here’s me hoping for tibette reunion :)
Dang, poor angie..i’m glad 2 it wasn’t mikey. OOO, yes we love flash backs, but angies was hard to read.
I´m glad too it wasn´t mike, but bette and tina might know the question soon.
Thanks for the warning, poor Angie. Guess we’ll have to see where this goes but I really feel for the kid, can’t be easy keeping all of that inside. PPS
Good chapter. I’m glad to see that Mike isn’t the culprit. Seems like it might be one of his friends. He’s trying to handle it without the adults, which is wrong, but typical of how a teenager would think.
