No Beast so Fierce Chapter Two

"I mean, come on Tina." Dana said, playing devil’s advocate. "You gotta admit what the werewolves did to the wereboars in Greece was pretty fucked up. I mean if the stories are true we’re talking about roasting them on spits and then eating them. That was before all the ethnic cleansing started going down."

"Yeah, but Jesus Dana." Alice jumped in. "Bette didn’t have anything to do with that and if we’re going down that road then Peter’s got blood on his hands from all those Indians his ancestors killed. And then the whole slavery thing…" The Tasso’s were once one of the most prolific slave traders in Georgia, even Nicholas, not the most sensitive man in the world had been shamed by that part of his family’s history. "The past is the past. Let it go. Peter needs to let it go too."

"There’s a lot of things that Peter needs to let go." Tina said with a huff. "The trick is getting him to see reason."

"Yeah, well, good luck with that." Alice said as Marina sauntered over with a coffee and a bagel.

"Sorry about the wait, Tina." Marina apologized smoothly, handing Tina’s order over to her. Tina told her not to worry. "How’s Peter?"

    "Shitty." Alice answered for Tina.

"Oh, so sorry about that." Marina said. "But just think, only two more years and then he’s out of your house and you and Bette are free women again."

"No no no." Tina said shaking her head. "I’m not making the same mistake twice. I don’t care if I have to move into his dorm room to keep an eye on him."

"You can’t keep him tied to your apron strings forever." Marina said, sitting down next to her.

"Yeah well, after what happened to his father I guess I’d just rather be safe than sorry." Tina said then with a annoyed huff. "God, I’m pathetic. Look at me I don’t even want my son to go away to college."

"You’re not pathetic, Tina." Marina offered. "You’re a good mother. It’s your job to be overprotective."

    Tina smiled, a bit sadly.

"And hey, look we’re all here for you whatever you need." Alice offered.

"Yeah, I mean, not whatever you need-" Dana sputtered. "But, like, emotional support. Or if you need help moving a couch. Not with Peter. You’re on your own with him."

    1. The chapter summary had me laughing. What a shame that Peter was brought up by his jerk of a father. He’s annoying and arrogant… but he’s also still a teenager. Maybe there’s still hope for him, but he needs someone to smack him down every time he sticks his foot in his mouth. Which he appears to constantly do. I hope Alice and Shane figure out something to help Dana. This story’s different, and pretty enjoyable. Keep up the good work! Cheers :)

    2. I love your sense of humor TDS. I laugh so hard at everything you write. You have a talent. I have a list of writers whose talents for writing I’d like to steal and you just got added to that list. Thank you😘
