    New York Minute

    Chapter 26


    Bette woke up when Tina got back into bed – she opened her eyes.

    “You okay ?”

    “Fine – I just feel the cold more than you – I turned the heating on “

    Bette chuckled and pulled Tina closer “I am disappointed that you needed anything to heat you up after last night “

    Tina kissed her “ Even your loving wears off in this weather “

    “I will try and not let that comment get at me”

    Bette stroked Tina’s face before kissing her again

    “Think I better get up and use the bathroom “

    “Good – that makes it easier for me to steal the duvet “

    Bette got up “I’ll back myself in a contest to get my share back “

    Tina rolled over and watched as Bette went into their ensuite bathroom. She sighed – it was just remarkable how life had changed so dramatically since Kit’s wedding. This was the right time in her life and in Bette and Angie’s for them all to be together – it was a great feeling for all of them and Tina knew that this was an exciting beginning.

    By the time Bette returned Tina had wrapped herself in the duvet and was trying to get back to sleep. Bette flicked back one of the huge vertical blinds that were on the window. The sight made her smile – this was a day she had really been looking forward to

    “Tina”

    “Ugh “

    “Tina “

    “What ?”

    “Open your eyes”

    “No “

    “Please honey “

    Tina opened her eyes as Bette took the cord of the blind and swept them open. Normally at that time in the morning New York was dark – this morning there was a lightness that could only have come from one thing , Tina sat up

    “Snow “

    “I was hoping it would snow sooner or later – normally New York gets a covering long before mid December “

    Tina looked at Bette

    “She’s going to be thrilled “

    “She is “ Bette agreed

    “And you are just as thrilled because you get to take her to the Park and play with her “

    “You can come too “ Bette said smiling as she watched giant snow flakes falling past the window.

    3. Thank you for all the updates, especially this one. NYM is still my favorite out of all of them. I can’t wait to see how Bette handles all her detractors left in CA! Have a fun break.

    4. That wonderful that Bette is going with Tina, I was hoping she would when Tina first said she had to go to LA. I’m still very surprised that Kit has turned her back on Bette and for what reason. Bette didn’t do anything to harm her when she was there for the wedding, unless helena has said something to Kit. At any rate as Bette said, they can all go to hell. She has her family and that is all that is important. One thing I think they should do is tell Angie that Bette is her mother before they go to LA or someone, (Alice), might do it for them. Thanks for posting one of my very favorite stories.
