    Author Notes:

      “Hey daddy,” Bette said.   “My baby, if I have to die right now, I can go in peace.” Melvin stretched his arms to hug Bette.   “You won’t die, old man. You won’t die.”  Bette walked into her father’s stretched arms and hugged him for dear life. He cried when he stroked her

     

    “Hey daddy,” Bette said.

     

    “My baby, if I have to die right now, I can go in peace.” Melvin stretched his arms to hug Bette.

     

    “You won’t die, old man. You won’t die.”  Bette walked into her father’s stretched arms and hugged him for dear life. He cried when he stroked her back and kept saying he was sorry for what he did to her. Bette stroked his face and wiped the tears from his eyes, kissing his forehead.

     

    “It’s ok, daddy, it’s ok. Don’t cry, I’m here, Kit’s here and we want you to get better. The family expanded. I heard I have a nephew and I met my brother-in-law, who’s an amazing man. And there’s someone else I want you to meet. But you have to get better. So stop saying dumb things like you’re gonna die, because you won’t!”

     

    A smile appeared on Melvin’s face when Bette said he had to meet his grandson. He turned his head towards Sonny.

     

    “Come hear, my son. I don’t know you yet, but you’re making my girl happy. I’m thankful because I couldn’t. You gave her back confidence in men and I’m sure you’re going to raise my grandson to become a fine young man.”

     

    “Thank you sir, but we need you to help raise him too. He needs both of his grandfathers.”

     

    Sonny hugged his father-in-law and let his tears run. Kit joined the hug and they stayed there for a few minutes. It was Kit who ended the hugging.

     

    “Daddy, you go back to sleep. You’ve seen Bette and you’re tired, so is Bette. In fact, we all are. Tomorrow we need to talk about you’re surgery.”

     

    Bette and Sonny stood up and let go of Melvin. Kit walked over and straightened up her father’s blankets. Melvin looked at his daughter and spoke to her.

     

    “Kit, I refused the surgery because I had nothing to live for but now I want to have it. I can’t afford to leave this world yet. So you may tell the staff that I’m ready for it. I’ll go to sleep and see you guys tomorrow.”

     

    With that remark, Melvin closed his eyes and fell asleep. Kit, Sonny and Bette left the room. Kit and Sonny walked to their room after Sonny showed Bette were her room was. Bette walked into hers and Tina’s room finding Tina asleep.

    2. Girl, you are on a roll! Several updates, yeah!

      I like that you wrote about what happend in the past, explained Melvin’s behaviour to his wifes and daughters. But i think he has a lot to make up and that he welcomes Tina in the family like he did with Sonny.

    5. Sometimes our head hampers everything. Other times it’s the heart that does not help. And others are due to the fact that precipitation is inherent in humans. Melvin was wrong with her daughters. Wrong with himself. And he’s apologizing for being so cruel. I think Bette and Kit would be the last people who wanted to hurt, but it’s always like that. We ended up hurting those we love most .And is now asking forgiveness of their daughters.
      The human being lives full of imperfections, full of flaws in their system, full of black skills, but the human being is also synonymous with learning and improvement.
      Entire universe.

      Note: it takes me a little longer to comment when I venture to write
      a longer text, and because of my difficulty with my English, I try all the
      cost to my writing a little better to be understood, so
      It takes longer to comment.
