“I don’t know about that you guys. You two are sensational.”

“Flattery can get you anywhere, Hels.”

“Hell, I hope so. Now, where do I get myself a drink? Oh there. Later!” And with that Helena went off.

“Bette!” Bette heard someone call her name. She turned to see Jodi.

“Hi Jodi!” Bette cordially greeted.

“No date?” Jodi asked with a twinkle in her eyes.

“Actually, I have one. There you are.” Bette said when Tina made her way back after going to the bathroom.

“Jodi, I would like you to meet the love of my life, Tina Kennard. Tina, this is Jodi the artist that I have been telling you about.”

“Hi Jodi! The less dramatic description of me would be the girlfriend. What Bette just said was a mouthful.” Tina said with a smile.

“Hi Tina! It’s nice to finally meet you. Bette has told me a lot about you.”

“Really now?” Tina said smiling at Bette. “Good ones, I hope.” Tina added.

“Nothing but good things, Tina. I think for Bette you can do nothing wrong.”

“And Bette is standing just right here.” Bette interjected. “This looks good, don’t you think?” Bette addressed Jodi.

“It’s actually better with the lighting and all. It was great earlier but put altogether, it’s just awesome. This is so good that I don’t know how I’ll work with anyone else.”

“Then don’t. We can draft something up and you can show your work with us exclusively.”

“Let’s party first, Bette and we’ll talk business later.” Jodi quipped. “I’ll see you two around.”

The show was a huge hit and the “sold” signs all over the place were a dead giveaway of how successful the night was. Tina and Bette were among the last ones to leave.

They barely got inside the apartment before they started kissing and touching each other. Needless to say, the night was spent with lovemaking.

They were headed to a nearby deli to get sandwiches. The plan was to get food and head to Central Park. It was a lovely day to spend indoors and they decided that they needed fresh air. They were walking hand in hand when Tina’s phone rang.

“Tina Kennard.” Tina said when she did not recognize the number calling her.
