    My One Special One – Chapter 11

    “Oh, my dear, you have it bad.  That good, huh?  When do I get to meet her?”

    Tina patted Steve’s knee. “Soon, but not before I get to spend some more time with her.  We better head back.”

    “Yeah, maybe with luck we’ll get done by six.”

    On the way back to City Hall they passed the sculpture that’s been sitting on the corner of 15th and JFK Blvd for yearseverybody in Philly knows it.  Today Tina actually looked at it for the first time.   Large, colored metal letters:  L O V E

    Yeah, Tina thought, how many times people have said to her, “Meet you at the LOVE sign”it’s now taken on a whole different meaning.  We’ll see.  I am in awe of its intensity and fearful of losing what I may have found.

    They approached the northwest entrance to City Hall.   Just as they were about to enter, Tina turned to Steve.

    “Steve, we’ve still got a couple minutes.  I’m going to make a quick call.”

    “Sure.and tell the lucky lady I’m anxious to meet her.  See you upstairs.”

    Steve winked at her and entered the building.

    * * *

    This time when her cell phone rang Bette didn’t even look at the caller id.

    “Bette Porter.”

    “I wanted you to know I’ve been thinking of you constantly.” Tina purred into the phone.

    The sound of her voice alone made Bette’s stomach feel as if she were in free fall.

    “God, T, this is the longest freaking week. I miss you.”

    “I have to go back to court.  The weekend will be here soon.”

    “Okay.” Bette said in her best hang dog voice.

    “Bette?”

    “Yes.”

    “I miss you.  I cannot wait to be with you again.  Bye, baby.”

    * * *

    Tina got on the elevator and didn’t notice the person that was behind her getting on also.  The elevator was pretty full.  The person stepped to the side and then to the back of Tina.

    When the elevator reached the 4th floor, Tina got off, made a left and walked down to Courtroom 476.

    The same person that followed Tina into the elevator exited the same time she did, but did not follow her to the courtroom – merely stayed a distance behind, leaned against the wall and took notice of which courtroom she entered.

    1. your metaphors are incredible, this is a very beautiful chapter and i hope they will overcome their fear and express their love….should we be scared about the person following Tina? i hope not…….don’t give up on B&T, i hope Ilene will find the way to finally bring them back together as well

    2. That was a great chapter, rc. Please let them overcome the fear and say it, “I love you.” Now who is following Tina and what for? Please don’t let anything happen to her it would kill Bette for sure. Can we just have a beautiful love story and not too much drama, please. lol. Thanks for the post.

    3. Like Van said….that was so intense – WOW. I absolutely love your writing and can’t get enough – I’m addicted :o))….more please and have a great weekend…

    4. I know how fear can paralize a person to do nothing. I am struggling with the need to take a cold shower, watching Charmed and needing to put new batteries in my toys. Keep writing.

    5. Arceextl,Another piece of heaven.I adore the way that Bette and Tina are falling head over heels in love with their hearts as their heads put barriers in the way. Hope and trust are the emotions that overcome these obstacles. This is a highly emotive story, wonderfully written and crafted. The care and attention to detail are splendid as your supreme storytelling fills every reader will a little sliver of your imagination. I can’t wait until these gals admit their true feelings to each other. The tenderness and adoration is evident in their lovemaking and constant thoughts of one another. Much gratitude for continuing this marvellous melodrama and making my day magical. Your Loyal Fan.

    6. Glad to see another chapter from you! I’ve been in there shoes before, where you want to say it but are afraid it’s too soon or whatever. But your eyes give it away anyway. I guess saying it actually makes it more real, and reality can be scary as hell.

    7. Goodness that was sooo….. intense!! Beautifully written. Now I know that drama is around the corner, who is following Tina???? And Y ??? I know you won’t let anything happen to her (at least I hope not). Looking forward to another update….VERY VERY SOON!!!! LOL!!!

    8. This whole chapter was beautifully written. I loved the descriptives with shaping the steel, and how “its molecular makeup remains the same, but its form is forever changed in those blistering, blazing moments.”That was fabulous, along with these two thoughts which will stay with me for a long time. 1. “I just cannot live my life through the eyes and minds of other people.” 2. The core of her being was the center of an enormous rippling circle in a steamy river as it meets the giant sea.” Incredible writing. Thank you very much for this chapter.

    9. B & T love one another to intensely, totally, and completely that the fear of saying it out loud keeps them silent. They know how they feel, but to hear those words spoken with true intent is what will make the seal unbreakable. Who was following Tina? Does it have to do with a case she’s working on? Drama and mystery…
