“God, I wish Crankshaft would get laid. Maybe we’d catch a break from him.” Tina muttered.
“Umm.speaking of getting laid, my friend, you owe me one titillating story.”
“Oh, I do, do I?” Tina laughed.
“Come on, I’ll buy you a soft pretzel with an amazing garnish of yellow mustard if you’ll please tell me! Pretty please? I’ve had such a dry spell lately, I need to know someone else is getting’ it on.”
“I still don’t get how you Philly people love to eat twisted salted bread with mustard on it, but hey, you’re treating so how can I refuse.”
“But are you going to talk?”
“Yes, yes, I’ll talk. Come on, let’s get out of here.”

They were sitting on a bench in a small park-like area across from the Suburban Station building. Tina was filling in Steve on the reason for the near constant smile she was sporting these days.
“I can’t believe it – all the time I’ve known you and you’ve never expressed an interest in women. Don’t get me wrong, I am delighted to have you as a member of the club, darlin’. You’re an exquisitely beautiful and bright woman, Tina. I only want you to be aware of all the ramifications that come with being a charter member of the club. I’m feeling a bit protective of my ‘adopted sister.’”
“You know, Bette spoke of the same thing – the consequences from friends and my family. Steve, I just cannot live my life through the eyes and minds of other people.”
“Well, right on, sister. You do know that I’m here for you to talk to anytime, anywhere. God knows you’ve listened to me and all my escapades into finding my knight in shining armor. Soooooooooooooo.now are you going to tell me how the S-E-X was?” Steve impishly asked.
Tina didn’t reply right away. She was looking out at the cityscape before her, seeing nothing but the memories in her mind of her and Bette making love.
“Earth to Tina”
“Oh, sorry. Just thinking. Umm, the S-E-X – Steve, I have no words, only that I have never experienced anything like it before.”

your metaphors are incredible, this is a very beautiful chapter and i hope they will overcome their fear and express their love….should we be scared about the person following Tina? i hope not…….don’t give up on B&T, i hope Ilene will find the way to finally bring them back together as well
That was a great chapter, rc. Please let them overcome the fear and say it, “I love you.” Now who is following Tina and what for? Please don’t let anything happen to her it would kill Bette for sure. Can we just have a beautiful love story and not too much drama, please. lol. Thanks for the post.

I know how fear can paralize a person to do nothing. I am struggling with the need to take a cold shower, watching Charmed and needing to put new batteries in my toys. Keep writing.
Arceextl,Another piece of heaven.I adore the way that Bette and Tina are falling head over heels in love with their hearts as their heads put barriers in the way. Hope and trust are the emotions that overcome these obstacles. This is a highly emotive story, wonderfully written and crafted. The care and attention to detail are splendid as your supreme storytelling fills every reader will a little sliver of your imagination. I can’t wait until these gals admit their true feelings to each other. The tenderness and adoration is evident in their lovemaking and constant thoughts of one another. Glad to see another chapter from you! I’ve been in there shoes before, where you want to say it but are afraid it’s too soon or whatever. But your eyes give it away anyway. I guess saying it actually makes it more real, and reality can be scary as hell.

This whole chapter was beautifully written. I loved the descriptives with shaping the steel, and how “its molecular makeup remains the same, but its form is forever changed in those blistering, blazing moments.”That was fabulous, along with these two thoughts which will stay with me for a long time. 1. “I just cannot live my life through the eyes and minds of other people.” 2. The core of her being was the center of an enormous rippling circle in a steamy river as it meets the giant sea.” Incredible writing. Thank you very much for this chapter.
B & T love one another to intensely, totally, and completely that the fear of saying it out loud keeps them silent. They know how they feel, but to hear those words spoken with true intent is what will make the seal unbreakable. Who was following Tina? Does it have to do with a case she’s working on? Drama and mystery…
