The feel of their entwined hands felt so nice, after all the bad things that had happened between the two of them, they felt lucky because now they’re at the stage where they felt comfortable and at ease with each other. As both women ascended the stairs, the brunette could feel her heart drumming against her chest.
When they reached the second level, she saw a painting on the dark wooden easel standing against that big open window; she walked closer to it and noticed that it was a portrait of a woman… the woman she knew so well
“Tina, were you the one who did this?”
The hazel-eyed beauty was standing a few steps away from the brunette while she let her admire the work of art
“Nope it wasn’t me”
“Then who did Kit’s portrait? My God it’s so beautiful!” the brunette said as she let her hands touched the rough edges of the painting
“The person who made that painting is here and he’s standing right behind you”
Bette turned around and saw a lanky teenage boy with dark curly hair and dark skin smiling at her
“Hi!” the teenage boy greeted who became suddenly shy when the gorgeous woman with a caramel skin looked at him with wondering eyes
Bette’s heart was now racing very fast, her eyes travelled from his head to foot. She didn’t know why but she immediately felt a deep emotional bond with the young man standing before her. When the dark eyed beauty looked into his dark brown orbs, her instincts told her that this young man was someone very important in her life
“Hello, your work is absolutely beautiful. My name’s Bette, what’s yours?”
“It’s a great pleasure meeting you Ms. Bette my name is Peter… Peter Porter”
Chapter 36
Bette didn’t know if what she heard was right; the young man standing in front of her was Peter Porter? Kit’s son, Peter? But how could that be possible? ‘No that’s not possible’, the brunette thought. She looked at Tina and gave her a questioning look
Tina just nodded letting her know that what she was thinking about Peter being Kit’s son was correct. The caramel skinned beauty turned her gaze back to the handsome young man who was nervously smiling at her and his hands inside his pockets. Bette held his gaze and saw Kit’s eyes; she covered her mouth with her hand in complete shock

Oh phacey what a nice and happy reunion! That meeting between kit and peter was really touching it made me cry and I’m glad that finally Kit and peter found each other. In this chapter Bette seemed more mature than who she was in the beginning of the story and i think Tina is still having problem dealing with relationships. My guess is that this “talk” between her and Sam might be the end of their relationship and I’m crossing my fingers lol!!! Thanks for the great update hun!
Lovely chapter. It’s great that Kit can have her son back in her life now especially now that she has the ability to care for him properly and give him what he needs; all the love she can possibly give him, the education that he needs, the stability that he needs and any material things that he might want since in his short life he has had virtually nothing, not even his own room. I think Tina was right in checking out his story and finding everything was just as he said but I wish that she had brought them together earlier when she first found out the info. They need each other, all of them. Now is the time for Tina to end things with Sam which she never should have started in the first place. Can’t wait.

Hey phacey, thanks for the update. So glad Peter is finally reunited with his family and that Kit is now in a position to be a great mother and to give him not only love but the material comforts of a good home, a great education, and a sense of belonging. Tina’s nature and her penchant for dishonesty still bothers me. If she didn’t have ulterior motives there would be no reason to keep Peter a secret from her mother or Sam even if she was waiting to confirm his identity before telling Kit. What is she afraid of? Looking forward to the next update.

The tears are overtaking my eyes I cant suppress them. This was amazing, loving, painful, terrifying, emotional, all at once. Im so sad that Bette and Tina didn’t get back together but what’s done is done! Only time will tell now….Please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please finish this story!!!
