Life with Mom and Tina Ch 12

“All rise.” The Bailiff said. Judge Keen walked in sat down followed by the rest of the courtroom.

“First of all I want to say that after I ruled over that awful custody case I didn’t think that I would be judging an uncontested adoption with you all.” Judge Keen said. Bette sat up in her chair nervously. After everyone had said all the legal stuff the judge paused.

“After hearing all the reports I would like to talk to Jess in my chambers with out Ms. Porter.” Judge Keen said.

    “You honor?” Joyce said.

“You may join her if you wish.” She said. “Jess would you come with me for a minute?” Jess looked at Bette and Tina.

“I guess so.” Jess said walking towards the doorway where Judge Keen was standing. She took the Judge’s hand.

    Judge’s Chambers

Judge Keen walked in with Jess. They were followed by Joyce and Ken the social worker. The room had wood paneling and there were several pieces of artwork hanging on the walls.

“Jess I would like to ask you a few questions.” Judge Keen said.

“Okay” Jess said looking at the painting that was hanging directly behind the desk.

“Do you like that one?” She asked Jess. Jess nodded.

“Do you know who the artist is?” She asked.

“It’s my daddy.” Jess answered. “That’s me and mom.” Jess pointed to the two different obscure figures in the bright painting.

“It is. Well that makes sense.” She said Jess relaxed a little and leaned back in the chair.

“Would like Tina to be your mom to?” she asked. Jess nodded.

“She is going to be my moma.” Jess said looking at the Judge.

“What kind of things do you like to do with Tina?” She asked

“She taught me how to play softball, and she always goes swimming with me.” She said.

“Is there anything that you don’t like?” She asked.

“I don’t like it when they take my Game Boy or Legos away from me.” Jess said. They all smiled.

“Okay, well I think that is all the questions that I have. Is there anything that you want to ask me?” She asked.

“Can you make them give me back my Game Boy?” Jess asked.

    1. This is a sweet story and it’s so nice to read about a happy family, but I think you’re going too fast and leaving out things that would’ve been great to read about like their engagement party and their summer trip to Tina parents….but that is just me, I want it all LOL…..looking forward to the next post

    2. i am really happy for Tina she loves Jess very much. i like the interaction between families and the game boy it`s a funny topic. great chapter post soon.

    3. Great job, but I can’t believe that you let the Gameboy gag go. I really would liked for the judge to say “Now in regards to the Gameboy issue (looking at Jess), good try kid but no dice. I sorry to inform you that I have no juridiction over your Gameboy usage at the present time.” and everyone in the courtroom but Jess laughs. As Jess frowns, both B&T kiss and hugs her. Just my little dream, I love this story, please continue. :o)

    4. Gosh thatwas really beautiful and for the Judge to have one of Andy’s paintings and Jess recognized it,sealed the deal for the Judge. And like hansen and the others I want to read it all as well. You could probably tell it in flashback now thath the adoption has gone through. Tina thinking about all that led up to the adoption day in court. Thanks for the post.
