Just The Girl – Chapter Sixteen (a HYD-inspired fic)
"Okay.." Alice pursed her lips together, looking through the rack once more. Their leader bought a lot of nice dresses, making it difficult to choose just one. After a few minutes, she emitted a very audible gasp. "Fuck my mother..!" She said a little breathlessly, pulling out a dress from the rack. Damn, she salivated at the sight. She wanted this dress for herself!
Shane heard her friend’s excited outburst and looked behind her. She eyed the beautiful, turquoise strapless Dolce gown and nodded her head in approval. "That’s our dress." She smiled at Alice.
"Definitely." Alice grinned, hugging the gown near her body and twirling around. "Angelo.. this is it.." She said to the make-up artist.
Overhearing them, Tina looked in the mirror and gazed at the reflection of the dress that she would be wearing this evening. "Wow." She whispered in awe, taking in the wonderful sight. Goosebumps littered her flesh, she couldn’t quite believe that she would be the one wearing that marvelous piece of work. It was something that you would normally see movie stars wearing during big premieres or prestigious award shows. And for a moment, Tina felt unworthy. She was a nobody. What right did she have to wear that dress tonight?
Ever the perceptive one, Shane felt the sudden change in their guest’s mood. Looking intently at Tina, she caught the fear and trepidation that crossed the blonde’s features and smiled reassuringly. "That beautiful dress looks like it was made just for you." She smiled, patting the girl on the shoulder. That’s probably the reason why Bette bought it. "Just for you.."

6:00 PM
"Miss Bette, she’s not here.." A handsome young man wearing a finely tailored suit spoke into his cell phone. He stepped out of the dilapidated apartment complex and looked up at the row of third floor windows.
"What?!" Bette screamed into the receiver, causing the person on the other line to flinch. "Are you sure James?" She bit on the tip of her thumb anxiously, pacing around her spacious bedroom in a robe. Her hair and make-up was done, the only thing left to do was to wear the dress. Helena’s party was scheduled to start at six, but inclined to be fashionably late, the members of F4 decided to arrive by seven, eventhough they were the ones responsible for throwing the party in the first place.
