Just The Girl – Chapter Sixteen (a HYD-inspired fic)
"My pleasure. " Bette grinned from ear to ear, more than happy to do her bidding.
As soon as Sam and Helena were out from earshot, Bette turned to Tina and smiled. A smile that betrayed her happiness, relief and nervousness. "Hey.." She softly said. "I’m really glad you could make it."
"Well, I had no other choice now did I?" Tina arched an eyebrow, her lips showing a hint of a smile. "Someone was very persistent.." She said in mock seriousness.
"I thought you wouldn’t come." Bette looked down on her feet. "You made me so scared and nervous.." She admitted in a small voice. She had been looking forward to this party all week, all because a certain blonde would be coming. If Tina hadn’t showed up, she was sure that she’d spend the whole night drinking herself silly by the bar. She looked up again and met a pair of hazel eyes. "You look good." She smiled shyly. "Really really good." She added.
Tina swallowed hard upon hearing the brunette’s words, beginning to feel her face growing hot. Was she blushing? "You look not bad yourself." She tried to say unaffectedly, her eyes sweeping Bette. You actually look fucking amazing, she said to herself as her mind temporarily stopped censoring her thoughts. The heiress was wearing a backless Roberto Cavalli dress that showed her sexy toned body and her killer legs. Bette wore the dress with so much confidence that its hotness factor increased greatly. Bette Porter could literally stop traffic.
"Well, shall we Kennard?" Bette offered an arm out to Tina, stepping right into escort mode.
Tina smiled as she stepped forward and accepted Bette’s offer by encircling her arm around the brunette’s. "Let’s go, Porter."
A surprised Bette raised an eyebrow at Tina in confusion. She was expecting the blonde to swat her arm away as soon as she had offered it. "Why aren’t you pushing me away?" She asked, genuinely intrigued.
"I’m giving you a chance.." Tina explained with a shrug and smiled at Bette. Don’t make me regret it, she warned the brunette inside her head.
"What?" Bette furrowed her brows. "A chance?" She asked, feeling greatly confused now.
"Yes." Tina answered simply. "Now drop it because I’m hungry and I’m thirsty. And if you’re going to escort me around this party, you had better feed me first." She said seriously. She was beyond famished and she didn’t get the chance to eat anything when she was being passed around in Shane’s apartment.
"Then feed you, I will." Bette smirked as she began to lead Tina down the stairs and into the party. "I promise, I will do everything in my power to make sure you are severely satisfied.." She grinned at the blonde, eliciting a small laugh from the girl.
Helena Peabody’s welcome home party was just beginning.. and unbeknownst to two former enemies and semi-friends.. so was another thing..
