Tina speaks.  “Bette you’ve always been a caring human being.  You just didn’t know how to express it or show it.  But you had it inside all along.”  Bette there’s a saying that I think kind of sums up our brief but meaningful relationship.  It goes like this:  “When I am strong you are my weakness, when you are weak I am your strength.”  Bette is trying to compose herself.  She finally says, “Thank you Tina, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You changed my life forever last night.”  Tina doesn’t know what to say?  She just smiles shyly.  Bette smiles and takes Tina in her arms and hugs her close to her and then kisses her forehead.  Tina stays in Bette’s arms…..  Finally Bette says, “I’m thirsty.  Do you want another glass of Champagne?  Tina says, “No thanks, I would like a Diet Coke from the refrigerator.”  Bette gets up and says,  “Baby your wish is my command.”

When Bette leaves to get the Coke, Tina opens the drawer on the nightstand and puts the massage oil back for another night, and takes out a long, thin blue box from Tiffany’s.   Tina puts it on Bette’s pillow and then goes to her side of the bed.

When Bette hands the glass of Coke to Tina she also kisses her tenderly on the lips and says.  “Tina I’m having the best time with you.  Thank you.”  As she’s getting into bed she spots the box as says, “Tina no!    …. .  I can’t accept it.  I don’t deserve it.  Tina please, no.  Tina just says,  “Open it.  I think it’s the best part of the evening.”  Bette sits back and leans against the headboard.  She takes a deep breath and opens the present.  Bette looks at it and reads the inscription.  She starts to cry as she takes the necklace out of the box.  Bette holds it in her hand and then she lightly kisses it and reads the inscription out loud.  It says, “B. This is your half of my heart.”  Tee speaks. “Bette I have the other half.  Why don’t we put them on after we take our shower in the morning?”  Bette smiles but she cannot speak.  Bette takes Tina’s hand and brings her to her and they lay down.  Tina gives Bette a simple kiss.  It makes Bette’s heart sing!  Tina snuggles into Bette’s neck and puts her leg over Bette’s thigh.  Next is the hand on the breast.  Bette wraps her arms lovingly around Tina and pulls her even closer. They fall sleep with smiles on their faces.  They’re finally home in each other’s arms.
