***CHAPTER NINE***

TINA’S APARTMENT

Tina brings in her overnight case and sets it on the couch.  It’s 8:00PM. Tina’s thinking, ‘If it wasn’t for Bette being such a big fat jerk, I’d be eating a nice New Zealand Rack of Lamb just about now!  I’m starving.  I need comfort food, Domino’s to the rescue.’  After Tina orders her pizza and Buffalo wings and Dots for dessert she starts to unpack her case.  Inside the case on top are Bette’s favorite blue and white striped pajamas.  Tina says, “Why is she giving me her pajamas?  F*ck, why does she do this to me?”  Tina finishes unpacking.

Tina’s junk food finally arrives.  She decides she’s going to eat while taking a bubble bath.  When Tina finishes her relaxing bath with her junk food and a glass of wine, she gets into Bette’s pajamas and goes to bed.  “Today was one of the worst days of my life!  I don’t want to think about anything or anyone for the rest of the night.”  Tina said feeling sorry for herself as she turns off the light.

TINA’S APARTMENT – 1:00AM

The phone is ringing.  Tina is thinking whose is calling me at this hour?  Tina answers the phone.

Tina:    “Hello?”

Caller: “Is this Tina Kennard?”

 Tina:   “ Yes.” 

Caller:  “This is Sergeant Decker at the West Hollywood Police Precinct.  I have Bette Porter here.  We had to bring her to the station.  She was drunk and disorderly at the Planet.  She was belligerent and the bartender couldn’t control her.”

Tina:     “ Sergeant, Bette’s sister Kit owns the Planet.  Did you already book her?”               

Caller:   “No.  That’s why I’m calling you first.  Kit’s been great to the guys here at the precinct, so we thought we would see if you could come down and get Ms. Porter.  She’s just had too much to drink.  They had to tow her car too, and she doesn’t know where her purse or keys are.  By the way, Ms. Porter has been asking for you.”

Tina:   “ Thank you Sergeant.  I’ll be there in about 20 minutes.  Thanks again for not booking her.  Kit will appreciate it.”

“Damn you Bette Porter. Of all the f*cking times to get into trouble, everyone is out of town but me. So I have to rescue you! Fuck!  Bette remember we broke up? Damn, she lost her keys.  Now she’ll have to spend the night. Fuck!  In the morning we’ll have to bail out her car. Fuck!  If she lost her purse, she’ll have to get a new license and keys.  Double Fuck!!  I hate the DMV.  I hate the lines. Triple Fuck!!!!!
