If You Never Say Anything to Me ch.18

Cammy leaned over and asked me to go to the restroom with her after about an hour. The smoke was bothering her contacts and she was having a difficult time seeing. We told Alice where we were going and headed that way. On the way, Cammy asked me how Alice was doing. I told her that she was good. I know that Cammy loved Alice but their love affair had already played out. For her to think that Alice needed her would only cause issues in her relationship and she didn’t need that. Alice was fine in her own way. She asked about me. She had called and sent flowers after the shooting. Although she was Al’s girlfriend at the time, we had gotten along well. I told her about some of what I was doing and that I may have met someone but it was too early to tell. She was happy for me. She always wanted me to be happy and had never thought I was with the one night stands.

When we got to the restroom, there was a line. I had my arm around Cammy’s shoulder because we had to be somewhat close to talk above the noise. I never in my wildest dream or worst nightmare expected to see Tina Kennard there and me, with my arm around another woman. I looked at her and her at me. I whispered in Cammy’s ear that I had to go talk to someone and would meet her at the table. I followed behind Tina until she came to a spot that was empty. Her hello sent those wonderful chills throughout my entire body.

I found myself trying to explain to her that Cammy wasn’t my date. I needed her to understand that I wasn’t here with another woman after making the declaration to her that I wanted to get to know her and was developing feelings for her. I don’t think that she believed me until I told her I was still waiting until August 23rd for a date. When she smiled, I felt so relieved. I didn’t want to mess anything up before there was anything to mess up.

We made small talk until Alice came barging into our conversation. Actually Alice coming was a good thing. She invited Tina to join us. She then asked about Shane. I had just assumed that Tina was there with Shane and felt myself feeling flustered at the thought that she was out on a date. Was she on a date or where they just friends as she said? I didn’t have time to figure out how to ask her because she excused herself to get said friend and told us she would meet us at the table. I went back to see if Cammy was ready and we all walked back to the table. Alice was getting drunk and Alice drunk was usually an obnoxious time had by all. Had Tina not been coming to the table I would have left. There was no way in hell that I was leaving knowing that she was on her way over.

    1. NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!!!! This is so good…but I want MORE! NOW! DANGIT! The convo with all a drunken Al in the car cracked me up: “I’m going to be sick.” I could see Al doin’ all that! Glad you put she and Dana together in this story! That’s just awesome! But you’re really draggin’ this *date night* out, woman! NAAAAAAAAAAG! I’m beggin’ (*getting on knees*)…Can I have some more pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze! Soon! Tonight! :P Hope you’re well, my friend! :)

    2. Love how you’ve given both versions of this. Alice too funny. I know just how that is. ONce one of my friends, did it in my car, like 1min. from being home. Come on though, when are the going to really see each other. Hoping Bette going with her art and gives up being a cop.

    3. You just had to throw in a little trip to delay the date, you are evil. You tease us with Tina telling Bette they don’t have to wait until the 23rd and then you hit us with a trip to Spokane. I’m with Zheese…More, now, please!!!!

    4. If I was Tina I’d want to hear from Bette before the trip to set up the date for after. Looks like you are allowing room for Tina to feel that Bette has lost inerest and then some drama will follow no doubt ; ) Or perhaps you don’t want to torture us???

    5. Oh NAG, I can never get enough of you. No matter how many pages you write…or stories for that matter, I always want more. This was great. It won’t be two months, but it will be the 2 chapters I’ll bet like I suspected until they actually go out. That’s O.K., I will anticipate the whole time.

    6. I loved how Tina jumped in to help out Bette with this sammy woman. Alice all out of it and talking about Dana was fun. Now not only does it look like Bette and Tina may start to date but Alice may have finally found someone else besides Gabby.

    7. very nice! now, we don’t want Tina getting all het up about Bette not calling for a couple of days, so how about Bette breaks down and calls before she goes to Spokane, and maybe they get toegther for dinner, and then maybe……? LOL!
